Hudson & Rex: Murder, She Thought (2019)
Aunt Miranda needs to become a regular!
Great episode, but Aunt Miranda needs to become a regular! She was a great addition!
Would Be a 10, If It Just Focused on Alex...
Any episode where Alex/Connor is the main focus is automatically a great episode. Connor Lawson's acting is on top form in this episode and proves how great of an actor he is! The subtle moments between his character and Emily Burnett's character, Charlie, are perfect too. The scenes with Alex and his mum are really emotional and are well performed by Connor and Dani Arlington (Aileen).
However, the episode is let down by the unnecessary side plots that had no connection to Alex and his mum whatsoever, and it just kept ruining the tension and emotion that the scenes with Alex and his mum were having. Alex's storyline was strong enough to run on it's own steam for the episode.
Hetty Feather (2015)
Brilliant Show for Kids
Hetty Feather is a great drama for kids, and has some very serious topics which they tackle extremely well! Isobel Clifton is a great actress and portrays Hetty brilliantly! Eva Poe as Matron Bottomly is outstanding, her character is the exact opposite of Rachel Mason in Waterloo Road. Some of the acting from the kids can be very wooden at times (mainly Sheila, Gideon and Judd) but it's watchable.
Felt Kind of Rushed
The episode was alright, but it felt kind of rushed throughout the whole of it. Maybe would've worked better as a two-parter.
Was actually really good!
Very rarely a fan of musical episodes, but I must admit I actually really enjoyed this episode of The Dumping Ground! All the cast were brilliant! Particularly Emily Burnett (Charlie) who stole the show with her vocals! There were a few parts that were a bit strange, but overall it was a great episode! Emily Burnett & Connor Lawson really bring a lot to The Dumping Ground! The whole cast in general is such a brilliant group of actors and people, don't think there's any other cast as great as this!
Boring and still missing that Doctor Who spark.
This is probably the most boring episode of Doctor Who I've ever watched. The majority of the episode did not feel like Doctor Who to me, it felt more like some weird Star Trek episode. The acting from the companions was just as wooden and dull as it's been so far. Ryan and Yas need to go back to Hollyoaks, and Bradley Walsh should just stick with The Chase. And the music was extremely repetitive and contributed nothing but... repetitiveness. The monster was just silly, and it looked like it was just taken from Ratchet and Clank. Half-way through the new series and only 1 episode has impressed me (Rosa Parks).
The Dumping Ground: The Secret (2018)
Rushed & Too Much Crammed Into One Episode.
The episode felt very rushed and like too much was crammed into one episode. And there was a constant use of a speed-up effect that felt completely unnecessary and just made the whole episode even more rushed than it was. Joseph was meant to be the main focus, but the episode seemed to focus more on Ryan being a "good elf". Joseph has not had his own proper episode, despite being in the show for 2 years now.
Long Lasting Characters Deserved a Better Exit.
It was a fairly good episode, and the acting by Amy-Hickman and Mia McKenna Bruce was amazing and their exit was emotional. But Tee and Carmen deserved a better exit. Would've been better if it just focused on Tee and Carmen, instead of the "investigation" about people's belongings being taken by Jody. And the way Jody was being in this episode, made me wish it was her leaving instead of Tee and Carmen. And Jody always seems to get involved in every episode. And Harry coming back to see Tee and Carmen off seemed kind of pointless, because Harry never got a proper goodbye in the series, and he was hardly in the episode, but he was there. It was like the writers just forgot he was in the episode, or he was brought in at the last minute.
