A Fall from Grace (2020)
Couldn't get passed the hair.
A favorite author of mine recommended this movie to me so I immediately watched it. It wasn't horrible, I've definitely seen worse but it reminded me of a Lifetime Channel movie. I have to comment on Mehcad Brooks (Shannon) and Matthew Law's (Jordan) hair ... they both looked like Gerald from the Nickelodeon cartoon Hey Arnold. It distracted from the movie and made it seem cheesy and low budget. As soon as Phylicia Rashad appeared on the screen I knew exactly where the plot was going so there was no surprises.
Messiah or Con Man ?
This show is not boring it just requires the viewer to pay attention and read the sub titles. It does contain touchy subjects that some may not want to get involved with but it certainly isn't boring. Some people only watch shows that provide entertainment and make them laugh which is cool but The Messiah isn't one of them.
Messiah: He That Hath an Ear (2020)
Great New Series
This is a show you must actually pay attention to and not just have it on in the background. Mehdi Dehbi (Al-Masih) is a new actor to me but I am now intrigued by him and his acting abilities. While watching Tomer Sisley (Aviram Dahan) I kept thinking he looked so familiar so I checked IMDB and realized he was Pablo in We're The Millers. He is very convincing as Avi and also a little bit scary. Michelle Monaghan plays an uptight CIA agent who is hiding an illness and eager to prove the Messiah is a fake.
Avenue 5 (2020)
Off to a good start.
I can't believe the negative reviews, this is only the first episode. You cannot judge a show after watching only one episode. Some people aren't used to Hugh Laurie being funny but being a huge fan of Veep I know what he's capable of. I'm curious to see where the series is heading.
Riviera: À la vue de tous (2017)
I've always been fascinated with the French Riviera so I was so excited when I saw the trailer for this show. The cars, houses, clothes, and scenery alone are worth watching this show for. I would've liked different actors for Constantine and Georgina, not so much because of their acting skills. Julia isn't a bad actress but she's definitely not a trophy wife and to me Anthony LaPaglia will always be a wise guy who specializes in "waste management " in New Jersey. But I still enjoyed the season.
The Witcher (2019)
I LOVE HENRY !!
I knew nothing about The Witcher before watching this but I'm obsessed with Henry Cavill so I'd watch anything he was in. I admit I was a little confused by the timeline and the amount of characters but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. After binge watching all the episodes I decided to start reading the books so I would better understand it. I can't wait for season two.
The Report (2019)
Adam Driver was amazing as Daniel Jones, who was appointed by Senator Feinstein (Annette Bening) to investigate the CIA's Detention & Interrogation Program. Annette was almost unrecognizable as Feinstein but she killed it and definitely deserves the Golden Globe nomination but I also think Adam should've been nominated. It was awesome to see Michael C Hall as I've not seen him since Dexter ended. For five years Dan Jones along with his minuscule staff sat in a windowless room in the basement of CIA headquarters and poured over endless documents. The CIA hired two psychologists who came up with EIT- Enhanced Interrogation Techniques which promised to obtain information from prisoners. Their so called techniques were nothing more than torture and the CIA learned nothing of importance from the 119 prisoners. The two psychologists had no actual data to back up their claims that EIT was effective, they were morons who walked away with $80 million in taxpayers money. All the hard work Jones did was basically for nothing because everyone wanted to cover it up and no one was held accountable for it.
Long Shot (2019)
A load of crap !
I've never really been a huge fan of Charlize Theron, I lost some respect for her when she did a sex scene with the disgusting troll, Patton Oswalt. Then she appeared in The Fate of The Furious which I can only guess she owed someone a favor or she was being blackmailed. Then I watched this movie and I am left feeling icky. I normally like Seth Rogen but he was too pathetic in this and he and Charlize were awkward together with no chemistry whatsoever. A strong, powerful woman works her whole life to become President but having some mediocre d**k has her ready to abandon it all. What kind of BS message is this sending ?
Prodigal Son: Silent Night (2019)
I've never seen anyone who has such little regard for his own safety and well-being as Malcom Bright. It sucks this is the last episode until January 20th especially with the way it ended. This show just keeps getting better and better.
The King (2019)
Better than I expected !
Normally I don't really like this kind of movie but I really enjoyed The King. Timothee Chalamet is an amazing young actor who was incredible as King Henry V. I never really liked Joel Edgerton but he was good as Henry's only friend and confidant, Falstaff. I'm ashamed to admit I was a huge Twilight fan (Team Edward) so I was anxious to see Robert Pattinson as the Prince of France and he excelled my expectations. Lily-Rose Depp (Princess of France & Henry's wife) only appeared for a bit at the end but she was noteworthy and I look forward to watching her in the future.
Prodigal Son: Pied-A-Terre (2019)
YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING THIS !
Poor Malcom can't catch a break. Just when he gets himself a sliver of happiness in the form of pleasure with a beautiful woman BAM ...
Love this show and can't wait to see where it's going.
Prodigal Son: Family Friend (2019)
First I must say I thought Paul was Tobin Bell judging strictly by the voice. I have so many questions that must be answered. I don't think I've ever been this excited by a television show and it's quite refreshing. I'm curious about Eve because ever since she first appeared I got a bad feeling from her. I think she may be a relative of one of the Surgeon's victims.
Prodigal Son: Q&A (2019)
Love It !!
If you're not watching this delightful show you really should be. I don't watch much television and it takes a lot to hold my attention and Prodigal Son definitely does that. I am 100% invested in Malcom Bright's story and I need all the details. Tom Payne is really coming into his own as Malcom and as an actor. Michael Sheen isn't the star but when he's on screen he demands our attention and we submit.
2 Broke Girls (2011)
I used to like Kat Dennings but after watching this garbage I've lost all respect for her. I have no clue how this abomination lasted for six seasons and I'm afraid of what that means about the state of our country. I am not exaggerating when I say there is NOT ONE decent thing about it. Jennifer Coolidge reprises her awful accent from the animated movie Igor as the wanna be sexy Sophia, Beth Behrs acting comes off as awkward and uncomfortable. The jokes are either sexual, racist, or drug related and none of them are funny. Garrett Morris must have spent all the money he made in the 80's and that's why he got involved with this. I'm not sure which is worse 2 Broke Girls or Mom, funny they're both on CBS which was also the home of Everybody Loves Raymond, another POS show.
A.P. Bio (2018)
The Second Funniest Show You're Probably Not Watching
The number one funniest show would be It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. A.P.-Bio is a hit and I really hope it doesn't end up like The Mick and get canceled. Glenn Howerton is a brilliant actor who will always be Dennis Reynolds to me so I like to think of Jack Griffin as an alternate personality of Dennis. If you know anything about Dennis you know this could be a possibility. Allisyn Ashley Arm is hysterical as quirky Heather and Aparna Brielle shines as uptight Sarika. Paula Pell (Helen) is a true comedian and she always has me laughing my a** off. Stef, Michelle, and Mary are all funny characters as well. My only complaint is Patton Oswalt (Principal Durbin) as I loathe him as an actor and a person and I feel like he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a school or children but Glenn and the others make up for his creepiness.
The Misery Index (2019)
I absolutely love the Tenderloins and I'm a huge fan of Impractical Jokers. My first problem with this new "game" show is the host, she is trying too hard to be one of the guys and it comes off awkward and desperate. Secondly who are these supposed experts that are rating all these experiences ? Everyone handles things in their own way and it's ridiculous to generalize them and put a number on it. The only thing keeping this crap afloat is Q, Sal, Murr, and Joe and I'm afraid even they won't be able to do it for too long.
WATCH IT !!!!
This is my new favorite show. I don't watch it live because I hate commercials, I record it then watch it later. I don't look at my phone the whole time I'm watching because my eyes are glued to the television. Every episode is exciting, with me on the edge of my seat, peeking between my fingers. I can't say enough good things about this amazing show and the amazing actors in it.
Prodigal Son: Designer Complicity (2019)
Best new show !!
I just noticed I never wrote a review for this episode. Tom Payne (Malcom) is really growing as an actor and he shines as the slightly neurotic profiler for the NYPD. I've never really been a fan of Lou Diamond Phillips but I am loving him in this.
I'm hoping future episodes will be better.
First let me say that I think Tyler Perry is incredibly talented. I was excited when I first saw the teaser for this show. This first episode was all over the place with a lot of characters having a lot going on. I expected more about the first family and not so much about supporting characters. I'll continue to watch and hope it gets better.
Prodigal Son: The Trip (2019)
Must Watch !
I'm still loving this show, I'm still invested in the characters and finding out more about them. Each episode pulls me in more and has me asking so many questions.
Schitt's Creek (2015)
I have been binge watching this delightful show for a few days and I'm almost done the fifth season. Eugene Levy (John Rose) and Catherine O'Hara (Moira Rose) are amazing actors and they both shine as the once very rich heads of the Rose family. Dan Levy (David Rose) and Annie Murphy (Alexis Rose) play the very clueless and spoiled adult Rose children. Dan (David) is Eugene's son in real life which you can't miss as they look exactly alike. The Rose family loses everything and they are forced to move to the small town of Schitt's Creek and live in the town's only motel. David and Alexis are both tools when they first move to Schitt's Creek but it's nice to watch them evolve into actual human beings by the fifth season. Moira is the only family member who hasn't really changed much since arriving in town but the fact that she thinks she has makes her even funnier. Chris Elliott is so funny as the dumb as a box of hair mayor of the town, Roland Schitt.
Prodigal Son (2019)
Another Amazing Episode
This show keeps getting better and better with each episode. Every episode has me sitting on the edge of my seat, ready to jump up or cover my eyes. This is definitely my new favorite show.
The Edge of Seventeen (2016)
I have four kids and if any of them acted like Nadine I would've shipped them off to military school. I understand being an old soul and not fitting in with your peers but that wasn't the case here. Nadine is a spoiled, entitled, immature, selfish brat. I have never wanted to punch a character in the face more than Nadine."Boo hoo my dad died years ago so everyone should feel sorry for me." She acted as if she was the only one who loved her father and lost him. She is the most unlikable character I've seen in a long long time. It's pretty bad when you absolutely loathe the main character of this type of movie.
Just because the subject is a very serious topic doesn't make the actual movie good. The message is definitely one that needs to get out there and reach people but the execution was poor. It came across more like a Lifetime network movie with the over the top acting and rushed ending. A subject this serious deserves a several-part mini-series to accurately tell the story.
Prodigal Son: Fear Response (2019)
Every episode has me on the edge of my seat. Tom Payne is so convincing as Malcom Bright and I just wanna give him a big hug. Michael Sheen is scary as hell and he does insane like nobody's business. I've never seen Bellamy Young in anything before but she is excellent as the mother we love to hate. If you're not watching this series then you definitely should be.
