The Crash (2013)
Well done. Get out the tissues it's a desperately sad story.
Deep Water (2019)
I enjoyed this series. I'm sure people compare it to Big Little Lies but for me it was much more interesting and enjoyable.
I wanted to like this but I just didn't. Boring characters. Not scary. Not psychological. Just a bunch of stabbing and blood gushing.
Das Boot (2018)
War is hell
I saw this on Hulu and thought it was very well done. Quite depressing. Don't watch if you're looking for something uplifting. I didn't enjoy the resistance storyline but the rest was pretty good.
In the Tall Grass (2019)
Started out good
For me this was typical of a Stephen King story. Started out pretty interesting but then devolved into a silly portal to hell situation.
Many storylines, a little slow but only to provide detail. Very well done.
Tries too hard to be clever. Not funny. Not worth it.
Marriage Story (2019)
I can see why she fell in love with Charlie. He's lovely.
The Isle (2018)
I enjoyed it, finally a movie with an actual plot.
Boring as hell
I must be missing the point. I thought this was the best movie of the year
Come and Find Me (2016)
Not bad but lost interest
Started out pretty interesting, then it got less interesting. Kind of similar plot to marathon man although not nearly as great.
I thought the first episode was pretty interesting with a moral dilemma or three. But then the second episode had a weird threesome and started to go off the rails. I tried with the third episode but I just couldn't get through it.
In the Shadow of the Moon (2019)
First half was best
I enjoyed the first half of the movie, then it got kind of tedious. The message is fine, don't let politics muddle it up, evil people are bad.
Trust Me (2017)
First is best
Season 1 is a terrific story. Suspend any cynicism and enjoy. Season 2 is a totally different cast, story and setting. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as season 1
Music for a great party
Kung Fu Fighting, September, Lookout Weekend, Funkytown! No wonder these kids had such cool parties at Octavia's house. This movie isn't scary, just creepy. It's pretty good for what it is.
Willow Creek (2013)
I tried with this and I did enjoy the first half. The middle part had our two protagonists at night in their tent looking at each other, scared and jumping at every creepy noise outside. This went on for about 30 minutes and I fell asleep. Not scary. I enjoyed the beginning where he was interviewing the locals. Funny.
This bear was a great actor. My 3 stars are all for the bear. I mean when the bear got so sad about what happened in the beginning it brought a tear to my eye. The humans in this film were dumb and bad actors. The plot was silly. The worst part was when the big brother said the bear dragged him all the way back to the car from the restaurant. Seriously?! This movie is not worth watching, except for the bear.
I thought the film was as bleak as the desert. Crunch crunch crunch was actually hilarious. The most exciting scene was how the Gerry guy couldn't work out how to climb back down a big rock. I was very confused as to why the one Gerry did the thing to the other Gerry at the end. Maybe it was explained but I wasn't really paying attention. The cinematography was gorgeous. Not worth watching.
Love this show
The penultimate episode of season 2 was the best! Balthasar Kormakur (sp?) is a genius, I love this show!
Eighth Grade (2018)
8th grade is the worst. This movie brought it all back for me. I like this kid, she's a good person. I was left feeling like high school might suck for her too, but very hopeful for her future. College will be where she really comes into her own and has lots of success and lifelong friends.
The Prodigy (2019)
The story was good. I enjoyed it for what it was. Who cares what the critics think. This movie was not terrible.
Really enjoyed it
This movie was panned by the critics. Who cares what they think. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.
What just happened
Twists and turns, can't figure out what's real and what isn't, good people are bad people. In the end all is revealed.
Can't stop watching
I found the lead character Maja quite compelling although sometimes unlikeable, same as her boyfriend. There were some slow parts in the middle but worth watching.
The Little Stranger (2018)
Excellent cast, all top notch actors. The story moves slowly but deliberately. It's classified as a horror but it's not scary. It seems the doctor is enthralled with the house and its inhabitants and has been since he was a child. Ruth Wilson and Domnhall Gleason are very good. I enjoyed it but was expecting something different so I rated it a 6.
