Dawn of the Dead (1978)
Grab your seat...and a paper bag!!
This is by far one of the grossest and goriest films ever made. But don't let it scare you away. It's one of Romero's finest Dead movies, and a gripping survival flick.
2 SWAT officers, a pilot, and a news-station worker all flee to a shopping mall where they hold up as flesh eating ghouls are taking over everywhere. They do their best to evade and destroy their "walking dead" predators.
A true and original action film. But be WARNED! It's REALLY gory. Some people have to turn their heads during a certain scene!
It's gross, but perfectly made!
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
The flag ship of horror movies
This film more than any other film depicts how insane people can really be! Leatherface and his family make an alarming and chilling impact on the screen as 5 youths run across the worst house on the planet.
Suspenseful, a bit gory, and some scenes (such as where the old man chews out the hitchhiker and Leatherface) are just down right funny!
Few films have touched the horror this movie shows. Which puts it at the front of the group....
The Last House on the Left (1972)
A moral sewer on film
Well....for people who are twisted, sadistic, or are just simply amused by ludicrous immoral brutality, this is a decent film. But if you have even a rudimental sense of decency or humanity, it will be the most revolting film you'll see.
Two girls are kidnapped, forced to do whatever pleases or amuses their kidnappers (in one case, a girl urinating through her bluejeans!?!). The girls are both viciously raped, shot, and left for dead in the woods. Furthermore the kidnappers somehow cross paths with one of the kidnapped girls parents and suffer ridiculous vigilante justice from the disgruntled parents.
It's amazing that this film is even on DVD or VHS, or that Wes Craven ever got another movie contract! It's only purpose is to make people sick and to please a sadistic and warped audience. It is by far the worst film I've ever seen.
