Kurosawa is NOT a master
Certanly not in this movie. A murder case and an investigation. That is enough for a decent Agatha Christie movie but not here. Execution and cinematography is very poor. There is virtually no acting unless you call the regular japanese poses and faces and mindless shouting and running up and down acting. And the worse: this movie has the most riddicolius sword fighting scene i have ever seen on screens. Two 6 years old could have done it better.
This is not the first movie I see from Kurosawa but "frankly darling, I don't give a damn about it..."
Duck Soup (1933)
Imbecil at least pathetic at most!!
You got to be kidding me! Those who gave 10 are all....what? Jobless art critics who has nothing else to do but coming here to write useless reviews? I see no other explanation. There is nothing to say about this movie as there is no plot, no acting or anything similar to acting and nothing I repeat NOTHING that any of these guts are doing is funny! It was a pain to watch the first 34 minutes and a relieve to turn it off!
Låt den rätte komma in (2008)
I can see no way to understand what could have been in the minds of those who rated this 10 and calling it a masterpiece. Most of the time it is boreing the rest is simply sick. And no I am not against vampire movies but come on people don't be riddiculous!! This is not art! This is not entertainment either! How can this be a top250 film????
Brief Encounter (1945)
Nominated for 3 oscars??
Attention dictionary writers. If you are at 'boreing' and you can't think of anything to write to describe that word, just watch this movie. After that you will have plenty of ideas!!
This is a kind of typical english movie where absolutely uninteresting characters are going to uninteresting places and talking about uninteresting things. I gave three points and not one just because the plot was a good idea it's just the poor actors and the poor directing that killed this movie. I am not going to spoil anything if I say the scene mostly used in this film is a train station. So the most interesting part of this 1 and ahalf hour boredom was a random moment when a train just rushed through the station. Yeah.. one of those old steam engines. So for a very tiny fragment of time I felt hope for one of them maybe falling on the tracks and....nah...nope...nada. Both the 3 oscar nominations and the rating here are a JOKE!
Tonari no Totoro (1988)
No. It is not good. It's bad.
I cannot just go and watch the next movie that I usually do when I see something like 'this'. At this very moment, just after finishing the movie, I had to stop and write a review. Before doing so, I went through a few reviews that rated 10-9 just to make sure I am not mistaken. I was suprised. And no, not because I was mistaken. This movie is boring, uninteresting and without a story really. The animation is typical japanese which is also not close to me at all. Everything is a big exaggeration. So I was not wrong with my first judgement but I was suprised how many other people have seen a totaly different film. How is this sweet or cute? When was this funny? When could I have smiled? Never. Not a moment. I loved Howl's castle so this type of cartoon isn't that far from me that it couldn't have touched me if it was good. But no. It is not good. It's bad...
Mary Poppins Returns (2018)
Had they dropped the music entirely this movie would have been quiet nice for kids. The story starts promising only to collapse fully to the irritating and very 'shallow' music/songs.
Dissapointment. But I still gave 4 stars because of the excellent british accents and manners. These were mastered to perfection in this movie. Lovely language in conversations.
At Eternity's Gate (2018)
There were a very few moments when I have seen some sense in this movie. But only fragments. This whole thing is not worthy of the memory of Vincent van Gogh. I hope one day someone will make a better movie of the life of this very disturbed genius. Director Julian Schnabel should go and find another occupation as directing probably made the movie even worse. Normaly I like Willem Dafoe. He had some bad movies (Spiderman!) but over all he is good. Well, not in this one. This truly did not worth an oscar nomination.
And finally: Van Gogh is the greatest painter!
Just skip this movie
Mostly harmless... mostly boring... or i can slso say there is nothing to see here, move along.
I would rather watch some superman movies from the 80s. At a time when real actors were in the movies. Not these bunch of muscle cgi photoshop mixture nobodies. Sorry for the once real actors, who gave their names (not act!) for this misery called 'movie'. I have to admit that this one was a bit better than the usual marvel trash, hence the 3 stars and not one.
The Orville: Primal Urges (2019)
And i am just bored of Bortus. I have given the Orville another chance with the second season but after the family 'drama' in the first episode it continued with alien gay sex in the second. Guys this isn't entertaining at all. I am done with this now. Worse than Stargate: Universe was!!
Is this a joke? Ah no, i got it now. Just another Netflix attempt...
This so called 'movie' does not even worth a full review. Two words are going to be perfectly sufficient to cover it all:
By all means, save yourself from watching it. No wonder, it was another Netflix movie...
The Deep Blue Sea (2011)
Boring! Depressive! Not entertaining in any how!
Rachel Weiss is beautifull but she needs to turn down movies like this!
Tin Men (1987)
You don't like it? Then you don't like real life either...
I think it is among the best movies i've ever seen. It gives me somehow a good feeling every time i watch it. The life of the two characters played by Danny DeVito and Richard Dreyfuss could be the life of any of us. It makes the movie smell like real life. It is a simple story about a simple life of some "special" tin agents struggling for survival in a non friendly political environment. They only want to sell their product. They have many tricks to do that. The two characters are in the same industry but they have turned against each other because of a simple and minor car accident. As the story develops we can look into the life of the two characters. See their friends, their family their problems their happiness. We don't know who is the good guy and who is the bad one. The point is, after the movie we just simple start loving both of the characters just because they are as human as just any of us. There is no action, blood and sex in this movie just the story of some ordinary people but with so much humor, love and sense that you can't miss it!
