Too Narrow

I loved Johnny Cash and Emmylou Harris. The problem is, when you have 16 hours of footage in a documentary and about half of it is devoted to about 10 stars, it lost me. I was hoping for a broader perspective. We met Johnny in the first episode and then focused on him throughout the series. Also, know that Bill Monroe and Hank Williams were driving forces in the future of the genre, but could we go on from them at some point. I am about as big a Ken Burns fan as exists. I was really disappointed in the exclusions from the canon of Country Music. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan, but other than a three second picture of her at the end, she wasn't mentioned at all. There was a bit too much sentimentality. Also, why so much Ricky Skaggs and Hank Williams, Jr.? It could have been so much better with a little more work.
