In Chinatown, Jack Nicholson admires a sheep entering a courtroom, and in this season's Goliath, based heavily upon the famous Neo Noir, there's a pet goat that's another trip of what's a long literal trip taken by several characters under a drug spell that causes birds to appear, the moon to seem giant, and other such trippiness that's difficult for the characters or the audience to explain, which in itself is part of the Noir template that this season is following. And sometimes too trippy. Like the beginning of this particular episode. Say no more.
