The BAU heads to small town Lewiston, Maine, where two similarly aged young women in separate incidents were murdered in their home late at night, there being no sign of forced entry, and each woman stabbed twenty-two times in the abdomen. By the time they arrive in Lewiston, there are two more victims, a husband and wife. Initial thoughts are that age may have something to do with victimology or that the abdomen stabbings may be associated with the women trying to get pregnant. But in J.J. and Lewis meeting local ghost chaser Courtney Mably, they may have stumbled onto the connection between the murders: that each lived in what locals believe are haunted houses, the unsub probably trying to cleanse the house of what he/she believes are infected souls. As arguably the most outwardly enthusiastic local who believes in such lore, Courtney, who solely earns a living through her very active blog on the subject, becomes the chief suspect. If Courtney is not the unsub, she inserting herself...
