"The Chinese Exclusion Act" is one of the sadder installments of "The American Experience". It follows the incremental changes in laws that made it increasingly difficult for Chinese people to immigrate to the United States...culminating with the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 which almost completely stopped immigration of these people to the States. Thestory i s told in the usual way--with photos, some film footage and many experts talking about the subject. It makes for a very impactful and interesting story...one of the aspects of American history that is less than stellar.
My only reason for not giving this one a 10 is that I thought of many things that the show never explained, such as were Asians who were NOT Chinese able to also immigrate? Well worth seeing but quite sad overall.
