Flying Close to the Sun
23 January 2018 | by ThomasDrufkeSee all my reviews

It's always fun to see our heroes team up with villains they have been attempting to stop for years. In Supergirl's case, there hasn't really been a villain I have cared enough to get to that point. No matter, Livewire and Psi took the placeholder of villains teaming up to fight the bigger bad, Reign.

These last few episodes have been far from memorable, but definitely solid enough to keep my invested interested. While all of that was going on, Kara got closer to regaining her powers, and Alex babysitted Ruby while Sam/Reign was on 'vacation'. To me, the best way to go about the second half is to involve Reign as much as possible. Rarely last season did we have someone consistently appear on the show that wasn't one of the good guys. The reveal at the end showing Sam's complete unawareness of her actions is a fresh take on a villain, and I'm hoping that it continues to interest me.

I don't really have much insight on the episode tonight as a whole, but it's another solid, serviceable entry into season 3. That's pretty much what I say every week.
