‘Today’ Ratings Climb After Megyn Kelly Departs
The departure of Megyn Kelly from NBC’s 9 a.m. “Today” timeslot marked a setback for the anchor as well as the network paying her millions of dollars to host. But the split appears to be helping the morning franchise overall.

Since Kelly’s exit from the third hour of “Today,” viewership in the key demographic favored by advertisers in that time period is up around 10%, according to Nielsen. And in each of the last three weeks, overall audience for the flagship first two hours of the NBC A.M. mainstay has been larger than that for its main rival, ABC’s “Good Morning America” – a testament to some of the big breaking news stories that have recently gripped the nation, including a recent shooting tragedy in Pittsburgh. NBC canceled “Megyn Kelly Today” on October 26, two days after comments she made about wearing blackface and amid talks the two sides

Megyn Kelly Fired at NBC News, Will Receive $69 Million Buyout — Reports

Megyn Kelly Fired at NBC News, Will Receive $69 Million Buyout — Reports
Megyn Kelly is out at NBC after a tumultuous week.

In the culmination of a weeklong firestorm following Kelly’s comments about the acceptability of blackface, NBC News has fired Kelly, according to multiple reports but first broken by The Daily Mail. As part of being relieved of her duties as host of “Megyn Kelly Today,” the network will pay out the remainder of her salary, believed to be in the range of $69 million.

On a Tuesday morning segment on “Megyn Kelly Today,” Kelly compared blackface to other non-racially charged costumes, implying that the practice of darkening one’s skin as part of any Halloween outfit wasn’t an inherently racist practice. Kelly issued an email apology later Tuesday morning, followed by an on-air apology on Wednesday’s episode of “Megyn Kelly Today.” Neither of those actions were able to stop a mounting series of pushback against the host, including

NBC Airs ‘Megyn Kelly Today’ Repeat as Tensions With Anchor Rise
NBC chose to air a repeat broadcast of “Megyn Kelly Today” – an almost unheard-of maneuver in the realm of morning-news programming – as tensions between NBC News and anchor Megyn Kelly appeared to heighten, putting her future at the Comcast-owned network under a cloud.

“Given the circumstances, ‘Megyn Kelly Today’ will be on tape the rest of the week,” NBC News said in a statement Thursday. Kelly typically tapes the Friday broadcast of the program.

Kelly and NBC News had been in discussions about finding a new role for her other than host of her 9 a.m. program, “Megyn Kelly Today,” according to people familiar with the matter. The program has not fared better than its predecessor, a “Today” hour led by Tamron Hall, Al Roker, Willie Geist and Natalie Morales, and has drawn outsize scrutiny. But the show’s viability took a new turn earlier this week after Kelly

Former Miss America Winners Call For Resignation Of Gretchen Carlson
The plot of the Miss America bullying panel began to thicken this morning on Megyn Kelly Today when former Miss America winners Suzette Charles (Miss America 1984) and Heather Whitestone (Miss America 1995) came forward to confirm Cara Mund’s claims that Gretchen Carlson, a former Miss America herself, bullied her and others.

The two were “shocked and appalled” by the Mund’s open letter from last week claiming that she was bullied and put “on a shelf” by the organization since Carlson became the chairwoman of the board of directors. However, Charles and Whitestone said they were not surprised. Charles said “Gretchen has been bullying for a long time” which has resulted in many resignations from their office in Atlantic City.

Charles said that Carlson has taken “no responsibility for the way she has treated” Mund.

On Sunday, Carlson responded to Mund’s bullying claims saying that she had never bullied

Megyn Kelly Says She’s ‘Willing to Work’ to Make Her Morning Show Successful
Megyn Kelly occasionally reminds her morning viewers that she’s not big on exercise. And yet she’s been doing a lot of heavy lifting lately: trying to build an audience for a new TV show at a time when viewers can be hard to find.

In recent weeks, she’s endured several intense A.M. workouts as her NBC program “Megyn Kelly Today” has placed new emphasis on deeper dives into emotional topics. Kelly has hosted a group of transgender teens who came out on her show; interviewed a Stamford, Conn., firefighter about finding the bodies of children; and talked to a man who decided to forgive a son who killed the other members of their family. She explored all of these across multiple segments that in some cases took up the bulk of the show.

Yes, Kelly is still doing cooking demonstrations and giving away prizes. And she

Daytime Emmys 2018: Can rookie nominee Megyn Kelly beat 3 past champs for Best Informative Talk Show?

Daytime Emmys 2018: Can rookie nominee Megyn Kelly beat 3 past champs for Best Informative Talk Show?
Controversial commentator Megyn Kelly spent 13 years on the Fox News network before leaving in 2017 and making the move to NBC. She debuted on September 25 with her new talk show “Megyn Kelly Today,” which replaced “Today’s Take” as the third hour of NBC’s morning “Today Show” lineup. Now she’s nominated for Best Informative Talk Show at the Daytime Emmys on her first try, but she’ll have to face three returning champions: “Steve” (2014-2015), “The Chew” (2016) and “The Dr. Oz Show” (2017).

In the case of “Steve,” it’s not exactly the same show that won twice before. Steve Harvey actually hosted a different eponymous talk show from 2012-2017 that was taped in Chicago, Illinois, and produced by Endemol Shine North America. But that Emmy winning “Steve Harvey” was cancelled in July and replaced in September by a followup show simply titled “Steve” that’s produced by Img and

Jeffrey Tambor Accuser Van Barnes Gives First TV Interview: ‘He Actually Watched Me Sleep’
Van Barnes, the former assistant to Jeffrey Tambor who accused the actor of sexual harassment, gave her first television interview on March 7. In an interview with Megyn Kelly on her NBC morning show, Barnes revealed more details of the harassment she said she experienced “continually” while working for Tambor. Because she spoke out, along with “Transparent” actress Trace Lysette, Amazon announced earlier this year that Tambor would not be returning to the groundbreaking show on which he played the central character.

“Continually, I was always harassed. It ran the gamut of sexual harassment, physical harassment, and verbal abuse constantly. And this all really falls under the problem Hollywood has right now with this abuse of power and misogyny,” said Barnes.

Tambor denied the allegations when they first surfaced last fall, saying in an official statement: “I have never been a predator—ever. I am deeply sorry if any action of

Rose McGown continues to police Hollywood's reaction to the Harvey Weinstein scandal, this time attacking her Charmed co-star Alyssa Milano for not condemning Weinstein's estranged wife. McGowan believes that Georgina Chapman, who left Weinstein after stories of his alleged sexual misconduct went public, previously knew about her husband's behavior and should suffer for staying with him anyway. So when Milano told Megyn Kelly that she thinks Chapman is a "good woman," McGowan took to Twitter to express her outrage.

"I started talking about Harvey the minute that it happened," Judd recalls to Time. Megyn Kelly Not Expected to Replace Matt Lauer on 'Today' -- Here's Who Might
The Today show is already looking into who will replace Matt Lauer after he was fired from the morning show earlier this week over allegations of "inappropriate sexual behavior."

While there have been rumblings that Megyn Kelly would be taking over for the 59-year-old newsman on the first two hours of Today, several sources tell Et that this is not the case. However, NBC does have a replacement in mind.

"The network likes Megyn in her current role," one source noted. "The rumor around the Today show offices is that Willie Geist could be the one to replace Matt."

Geist, 42, has filled in for Lauer on the program in the past, and currently hosts his own weekend show, Sunday Today.

Pamela Anderson Says Harvey Weinstein Accusers Should’ve Known Better: ‘Don’t Go Into a Hotel Room Alone’
Pamela Anderson is receiving backlash for comments made during an interview on “Megyn Kelly Today” in which she expressed some controversial opinions on Harvey Weinstein’s accusers. Many of the sexual harassment and abuse allegations against Weinstein detail alleged encounters where the former studio head got women to come to his hotel room for a one-on-one meeting, but Anderson says the women should’ve known better than to go into a hotel room alone.

“It was common knowledge that certain producers or certain people in Hollywood or people to avoid, privately,” Anderson said. “You know what you’re getting into if you’re going into a hotel room alone. When I came to Hollywood, of course I had a lot of offers to do private auditions and things that made absolutely no sense. Just common sense: don’t
