Cameron Boyce Cause Of Death Released By L.A. County Coroner

Disney star Cameron Boyce died of sudden unexpected epilepsy, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said in official records released Tuesday.

Boyce, 20, was found unresponsive on Saturday, July 6, at his home in North Hollywood. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:35 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.

A family representative said at the time that the actor died following a seizure in his sleep, due to “an ongoing medical condition.”

An autopsy was performed on Monday, July 8, but the coroner’s office delayed releasing an official cause of death pending further investigation.

Days later, his family released a second statement saying his “tragic passing was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition, and that condition was epilepsy.”

Exclusive: Descendants‘ star Cameron Boyce has joined the cast of HBO’s upcoming comedy series Mrs. Fletcher, starring Kathryn Hahn and directed and executive produced by Nicole Holofcener.

Mrs. Fletcher, based on The Leftovers author Tom Perrotta’s bestselling novel, is a dual coming-of-age story, exploring the impact of Internet porn and social media on the lives of Eve, an empty-nest mother (Hahn) and her college freshman son, played by Jackson White. Deadpool’s Brianna Hildebrand joining John Cena in Playing With Fire

Deadpool star Brianna Hildebrand is set to join the cast of Paramount Players’ family comedy Playing With Fire, where she’ll join the previously announced John Cena (Bumblebee).

Andy Fickman (Race to Witch Mountain) is on board to direct the movie, which follows a crew of rugged firefighters who meet their match when they have to spend Christmas at the station taking care of three rambunctious kids they’ve rescued. Hildebrand will portray the oldest of the three orphans.

Hildebrand was last seen reprising her Deadpool role as Negasonic Teenage Warhead in last year’s Deadpool 2, and has the Netflix Ya series Trinkets incoming in 2019, along with the thriller feature Runt and sci-fi Persephone.

Tell me something good, Cleveland. The Rock Hall of Fame Class of 2019 nominees vie for trip to Brooklyn.

No sleep til Brooklyn, the Beastie Boys proclaimed. And after more than a few all-nighters, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the nominees for the Class of 2019. Rufus & Chaka Kahn, Rage Against the Machine, Stevie Nicks, Todd Rundgren, the Cure, Def Leppard, Devo, Janet Jackson, Kraftwerk, LL Cool J, Roxy Music, John Prine, MC5, Radiohead, and the Zombies are all eligible for induction at the March 29, 2019, ceremony in Brooklyn, N.Y., at Barclays Center, according to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame web site. The winners will be announced in December.

To be eligible this year, each nominee's first single or album had to have been released in the year 1993 or earlier.

In today’s film news roundup, Paramount has moved “What Men Want” back four weeks, a short film will be screened ahead of John Cho’s “Searching” and coming-of-age drama “Runt” rounds out its cast.

Release Date

Paramount Pictures has moved back its Taraji P. Henson comedy “What Men Want” back a month from Jan. 11 to Feb. 8.

The move came a week after Lionsgate vacated the February date by moving its Seth Rogen-Charlize Theron comedy “Flarsky” to the summer season.

What Men Want” is a remake of the Mel Gibson comedy “What Women Want.” Henson stars as sports agent who, after being passed up for a well-deserved promotion, gains the ability to hear men’s thoughts. The movie, directed by Adam Shankman, also stars Aldis Hodge and Tracy Morgan.

What Women Want,” directed by Nancy Meyers, was a major hit for Paramount with $374 million in worldwide grosses.

Exclusive: Cameron Boyce, best known for his role as Carlos in Disney Channel’s Descendants franchise, will star in the indie film, Runt, directed by William Coakley, based on a script by Coakley, Christian Van Gregg, and Armand Constantine.
