Factual errors

Lord Melbourne's death is shown as happening before the birth of Victoria's first son, Albert Edward, the future Edward VII. He was born in 1841. Lord Melbourne died in 1848. By then, Victoria and Albert had six children. But the series shows only the two oldest, Victoria, called "Vicky", and Albert, nicknamed "Bertie".

Albert learns that Leopold intends to marry Ernst to Princess Isabella of Spain. It was, in fact, Isabella's mother who considered Ernst as a possible husband for her daughter.

The goof item below may give away important plot points.

Factual errors

Leopold tells Albert that he "comforted" Albert's mother, insinuating that he is Albert's biological father. While Albert's parents were notoriously-unfaithful to each other during their marriage, there is no evidence that Leopold and Albert's mother were ever intimate nor that Albert's biological father was any man other than Ernst, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
