Megyn Kelly Calls for Outside Investigation of NBC Over Matt Lauer Allegations
Megyn Kelly is calling for an independent investigation into NBC following the rape and sexual harassment allegations made against Matt Lauer. The 48-year-old journalist made the demand on Wednesday's episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight. During her first televised interview since her departure from Today, Kelly spoke about the allegations published in Ronan Farrow's new book Catch and Kill. In addition to detailing the sexual misconduct claims made against Lauer, Farrow accused NBC News of trying to shut down his reporting of the Harvey Weinstein scandal. "The question is what did they know about Matt Lauer prior to the time the woman came forward, who was ultimately his...

Megyn Kelly Reveals What She’s Learned Since Leaving NBC, Calls Matt Lauer A ‘Sexual Predator’ In Fox News Interview

  • ET Canada
Megyn Kelly had plenty to say in her first interview since parting ways with NBC in January — but her lips were sealed when it came to outwardly addressing that departure. The 48-year-old journalist appeared on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Wednesday, though she didn’t discuss her abrupt exit from the network. The interview — which also marked Kelly’s first time

Megyn Kelly Slams NBC News on ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ for Matt Lauer Investigation, Harvey Weinstein Coverage
In Megyn Kelly’s first televised interview since exiting NBC, the former Fox News and NBC News anchor took to “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Wednesday evening to criticize NBC News management for its handling of the outlet’s Harvey Weinstein coverage and internal Matt Lauer investigation.

In an appearance that spanned three segments of Carlson’s show — the Fox News host bumped a recorded segment with Dennis Rodman to extend Kelly’s time on the air — Kelly and Carlson discussed the “mainstream” media’s coverage of Trump, CNN’s Jeff Zucker and Ronan Farrow’s reporting on NBC News in his new book, “Catch and Kill.” Farrow says in the book that NBC News looked to contain his reporting on sexual harassment claims against Weinstein; the outlet has maintained that it backed up Farrow’s reporting efforts.

“What did they know, and when did they know it?” asked Kelly of NBC News,

Tucker Carlson Plans Megyn Kelly Interview on Fox News Channel
Megyn Kelly is returning to Fox News Channel – briefly.

Tucker Carlson has scheduled an interview Wednesday with the former Fox News and NBC News anchor, who will make her first appearance on her former employer’s programming since leaving in early 2017. The “Tucker Carlson Tonight” segment would also mark Kelly’s first appearance on a TV-news outlet since cutting ties with NBCUniversal in January.

The announcement is certain to spark a flurry of questions as to whether Fox News is considering bringing Kelly, once one of its most-watched primetime hosts, back to its schedule – particularly in the wake of the recent departure of veteran anchor Shepard Smith. When asked if executives at the Fox Corporation-owned network expected Kelly to make other appearances on its air, the network said in a statement: “Megyn Kelly’s forthcoming guest appearance on ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ was coordinated weeks ago and is a one-time occurrence.

Tucker Carslon, Rep. Ilhan Omar Feud Over Primetime Remarks
Tucker Carlson said Representative Ilhan Omar “hates this country” during his Fox News program Tuesday night. The Minnesota Democrat responded by saying that the Fox News host is “a racist fool.” And so begins another contretemps in a news cycle dominated by President Donald Trump.

During his 8 p.m. hour Wednesday on Fox News Channel, the opinion host offered remarks suggesting that Omar, a Somali-born woman who arrived in the United States as a teenager, should stop criticizing elements of U.S. policy. “After everything that America has done for Omar, and for her family, she hates this country more than ever,” Carlson said. He also suggested to viewers that “maybe we are importing people from places who are simply antithetical to ours.”

Carlson also offered comments supportive of immigrants and Omar’s rise to Congress. “Some of our deepest satisfaction as a country comes from watching penniless immigrants arrive on our shores,

Rachel Maddow Just Had Her Lowest-Rated Month of the Trump Presidency

Rachel Maddow Just Had Her Lowest-Rated Month of the Trump Presidency
May has not been Rachel Maddow’s month.

“The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC has averaged 410,000 viewers in the advertiser-sought adults 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen — that is her lowest tally of the Donald Trump presidency.

Maddow averaged 412,000 demo viewers in January 2017, which was the month Trump took office. May 2019 was the first time she dipped below that previous-low mark among those ages 25 to 54.

To be fair to Maddow, her all-in average of 2.6 million total viewers per show this month was better than several other months she experienced during Trump’s tenure.

“The Rachel Maddow Show” was still the third highest-rated primetime series across cable news, ranking behind only Fox’s “Hannity” and “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” That bronze rating holds for both the key demo and in terms of total viewers — it also means

Fox News Tops Q1 Cable News Ratings, Maddow Bests Hannity in Key Demo

  • Variety
Fox News Channel once again came out on top of the cable news ratings for the first quarter, but not without stiff competition from MSNBC and Rachel Maddow in particular.

In the primetime 8-11 p.m. slot, Fox News averaged 2.4 million total viewers (down 1% from the year-ago quarter), with including 421,000 in the key 25-54 demo, while MSNBC averaged 1.9 million total viewers (up 3% from 2018) and 333,000 in the 25-54 bracket.

MSNBC struck back in the 25-54 demo for individual shows, with Maddow beating out Sean Hannity’s Fnc program in Q1. Maddow drew 549,000 viewers in the key news demo on average, compared to Hannity’s 547,000 and Tucker Carlson’s 532,000.

However, ultimately the shows split bragging rights. Hannity bested Maddow in terms of average total viewership, drawing 3.12 million compared to 3.06. Maddow was followed by three other Fnc shows: “Tucker Carlson Tonight” (2.98 million), “The Five” (2.58 million) and “The Ingraham Angle” (2.43 million).

Interestingly, in the month of March,

Tucker Carlson Topped All Cable News Shows Last Month in Key Demo Despite Ad Boycott

Tucker Carlson Topped All Cable News Shows Last Month in Key Demo Despite Ad Boycott
Tucker Carlson just won his first month in cable news ratings at Fox News Channel’s 8 p.m. time slot. And the victory came despite the ongoing boycott against the Fox host’s advertisers.

For March, “Tucker Carlson Tonight” claimed cable news’ top spot in the 25-54 demo for the first time in the program’s history, with 537,000 viewers per night in that advertiser-coveted age range. His pal Sean Hannity was second with 533,000.

It’s worth noting here that Carlson had been No. 1 when he took over for Megyn Kelly in Fox’s 9 p.m. hour a few years ago, but this is his first win since replacing Bill O’Reilly in the 8 p.m. timeslot.

Carlson has been on Fox News at 8 o’clock for just under two years now, having launched this version on April 24, 2017.

Tucker Carlson Guest Ties Jussie Smollett Case to Communists, Black Panthers, Kamala Harris (Video)
A guest on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Tuesday offered a unique explanation of the ongoing saga surrounding Jussie Smollett, tying the “Empire” star to communists, the Black Panthers and California Senator Kamala Harris, plus billionaire financier George Soros and even the Obamas.

“Not only did Smollett grow up in a communist household with ties to the Black Panthers, but he also works with Kamala Harris … one of the first Democrats to jump on this hoax — this obvious hoax — to use it to advance her own political agenda,” right wing journalist Chadwick Moore said.

“And then also on the other side of the political spectrum, you have [Cook County State’s Attorney] Kim Foxx … Kamala Harris was her mentor. Kim Foxx’s campaign was funded by George Soros — we know this now — and all it takes was a phone call from the Obamas to drop this prosecution,” he continued.

Days after liberal watchdog organization Media Matters for America unearthed Tucker Carlson radio appearances criticized as misogynist, racist and homophobic, Samantha Bee blasted the Fox News host as a white supremacist — using controversial clips from his home network as evidence. “Guess what, fucko? We have been watching your show,” she said on Wednesday’s Full Frontal. “And we found that it’s a revolting trash heap of racist talking points.”

Before wading through the Fox News pile, Bee offered an audio recap of Carlson’s various radio spots with Florida

Advertisers Continue to Flee Tucker Carlson. Will Fox News Stick With Him?

On Wednesday morning, Fox News hosted advertisers at its New York headquarters for the first “upfronts” meeting in the network’s history. The goal was to convince executives to purchase airtime on Fox News programming blocks despite the network’s Trump-fueled descent into abject demagoguery. Though protesters congregated outside the network’s Manhattan offices, the meeting was deemed a success. “We were extremely proud to open our doors and introduce the media buying community to our America’s Watching campaign, incredible team of talent and new state of the art studios,

Tucker Carlson’s Very Bad Week Leads to Huge Drop in Advertisers

According to data company Samba TV, the show went from 36 advertisers on the Monday before the release of the tapes to 14 advertisers the day after.

Carlson remains the most-watched show at 8 p.m. in all of cable. But more than 30 advertisers have pulled their ads since December, when Carlson said that “an endless chain of migrant caravans” was making “our own country poorer, and dirtier, and more divided.” Media Matters has called on people to boycott businesses that advertise on the show.

Tucker Carlson Loses 2nd Advertiser Over Past Comments About Statutory Rape, Women
Sheex, a female-founded bedding and sleepwear company, has pulled its ads from Tucker Carlson’s primetime show — the second advertiser to do so in as many days — after unearthed audio released by Media Matters showed Carlson making disparaging comments against women and minorities.

“Due to the inappropriate statements of Tucker Carlson that have recently come to light, Sheex has made the decision to cease advertising on his television program, Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the company said in a statement Tuesday.

The announcement came less than 24 hours after pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca pulled its ads from Carlson’s show.

Tucker Carlson Vows ‘We Will Never Bow to the Mob,’ But Some Big Advertisers Have
Tucker Carlson took to Fox News Channel’s 8 p.m. slot knowing he had the full support of the cable-news network’s regular viewers. He did not enjoy the same backing from big blue-chip advertisers.

Fox News’ broadcast of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Monday night featured just four ad breaks and very few big national commercials, relying instead on direct-response ads and sundry promos for other Fox News programs and properties distributed by its parent company, 21st Century Fox. The show featured a strong monologue by the host, who responded on TV for the first time to the revelation by liberal advocacy group Media Matters of troublesome remarks Carlson made years ago on a radio talk show about celebrities as well as a convicted cult leader who was known to have organized marriages between his adult male followers and underage girls.

“Since the day we went on the air, they’ve

Fox News' Tucker Carlson Defends Sexist Comments on the Air as New Racist Recordings Are Released

Controversial Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson used Monday’s episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight to address newly resurfaced comments he made about women on a radio show in the 2000s. Spoiler alert: He’s not sorry.

Before we get into Carlson’s “response,” here’s some context: As reported by Media Matters, Carlson called into the Bubba the Love Sponge shock jock radio program between 2006 and 2011 with disparaging remarks about women. In addition to calling them “extremely primitive” and claiming that they enjoy being told to “be quiet and kind of do what you’re told,” he also addressed several famous women specifically.

Tucker Carlson Called Out Samantha Bee for Saying ‘Actually Degrading’ Word ‘C–t’ That He Also Used on Air

Tucker Carlson Called Out Samantha Bee for Saying ‘Actually Degrading’ Word ‘C–t’ That He Also Used on Air
Tucker Carlson, who refused to apologize on Sunday evening after old audio clips surfaced of the Fox News host making disparaging remarks about women and calling TV and radio personality Alexis Stewart “c–ty,” had a very different reaction to comedian Samantha Bee’s use of that word to describe first daughter and White House adviser Ivanka Trump.

During a May 31, 2018 airing of his “Tucker Carlson Tonight” program, Carlson called the word “actually degrading” and said he didn’t know of any man who would use such language. Carlson made the remarks during a monologue calling out Bee called Ivanka Trump a “feckless c—” on air on her weekly TBS show “Full Frontal.”

“That one word that [Bee] used. I don’t know any man who uses that word because it is kind of the one word that is actually degrading,” Carlson told radio host Tammy Bruce on his own show.

Tucker Carlson Responds to Radio Controversy
Tucker Carlson responded Sunday night to the discovery of controversial and off-color comments he made during conversations with a radio “shock jock” between 2006 and 2011, urging people who wanted to know more about what he thought to watch his primetime program on Fox News Channel.

Media Matters for America, a liberal advocacy group, posted excerpts from various broadcasts by Bubba the Love Sponge, a popular radio host whose real name is Todd Alan Clem. During various shows, Carlson made negative, often misogynistic remarks about some celebrities and appeared to defend Warren Jeffs, the religious leader who had been placed on the FBI’s most-wanted fugitive list on charges he had arranged marriages between his adult male followers and underage girls

“Media Matters caught me saying something naughty on a radio show more than a decade ago. Rather than express the usual ritual contrition, how about this: I’m on television every weeknight live for an hour.

  • Variety
Historian Rutger Bregman has released cellphone footage of an unaired interview he did with Fox News host Tucker Carlson and an email that he received from Carlson afterward that called him “an a–hole.”

Bregman, an author of several books on history, economics, and philosophy, claimed Carlson invited him on his show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to discuss his recent comments on billionaires at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, being too greedy and not paying enough taxes.

However, the interview got heated when Bregman called Carlson a “millionaire funded by billionaires” and saying “You’re not part of the solution, Mr. Carlson. You’re part of the problem.” Bregman released footage of the interview to NowThis News, which has been viewed more than 800,000 times on Twitter.
