Tucker Carlson Tonight (2016– )
In an appearance that spanned three segments of Carlson’s show — the Fox News host bumped a recorded segment with Dennis Rodman to extend Kelly’s time on the air — Kelly and Carlson discussed the “mainstream” media’s coverage of Trump, CNN’s Jeff Zucker and Ronan Farrow’s reporting on NBC News in his new book, “Catch and Kill.” Farrow says in the book that NBC News looked to contain his reporting on sexual harassment claims against Weinstein; the outlet has maintained that it backed up Farrow’s reporting efforts.
“What did they know, and when did they know it?” asked Kelly of NBC News,
Tucker Carlson has scheduled an interview Wednesday with the former Fox News and NBC News anchor, who will make her first appearance on her former employer’s programming since leaving in early 2017. The “Tucker Carlson Tonight” segment would also mark Kelly’s first appearance on a TV-news outlet since cutting ties with NBCUniversal in January.
The announcement is certain to spark a flurry of questions as to whether Fox News is considering bringing Kelly, once one of its most-watched primetime hosts, back to its schedule – particularly in the wake of the recent departure of veteran anchor Shepard Smith. When asked if executives at the Fox Corporation-owned network expected Kelly to make other appearances on its air, the network said in a statement: “Megyn Kelly’s forthcoming guest appearance on ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ was coordinated weeks ago and is a one-time occurrence.
Fox News’ primetime lineup drew 2.4 million total viewers, down 1% from the same period a year earlier, compared with 1.5 million for MSNBC, which was down 18%. CNN drew 1 million viewers but was up 1%. The Nielsen numbers are for the three months ended Sunday.
In the prized 25-54 demographic, Fox News garnered 366,000 viewers, down 19%; CNN drew 268,000, down 20%; and MSNBC garnered 228,000, down 34%.
In total-day viewers, Fox News averaged 1.4 million, down 3%; MSNBC was at 880,000, down 15%; and CNN drew 624,000, down 13%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 230,000, down 15%; CNN posted 148,000, down 31%; and MSNBC had 128,000, down 34%.
Fox News’ 6 p.m. show Hannity topped cable news channels in total viewers, with an average of 3.3 million. Next were Fnc’s Tucker Carlson Tonight (3.1 million) and The Ingraham Angle (2.6 million), followed by MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show
The announcement came with the news that SiriusXM and Fox News Media are extending their broadcast agreement, meaning SiriusXM will continue to carry Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network and Fox News Headlines 24/7.

“SiriusXM has been a valuable partner to Fox News Media,” Jay Wallace, president and executive editor of Fox News and Fox Business said. “And we are excited to extend our relationship beyond streaming, providing on-demand access of our powerful primetime lineup to millions of listeners across the country.”
SiriusXM On-Demand and Pandora offerings will include “The Five,” “Special Report with Bret Baier,” “The Story with Martha MacCallum,” “Tucker Carlson Tonight,
During his 8 p.m. hour Wednesday on Fox News Channel, the opinion host offered remarks suggesting that Omar, a Somali-born woman who arrived in the United States as a teenager, should stop criticizing elements of U.S. policy. “After everything that America has done for Omar, and for her family, she hates this country more than ever,” Carlson said. He also suggested to viewers that “maybe we are importing people from places who are simply antithetical to ours.”
Carlson also offered comments supportive of immigrants and Omar’s rise to Congress. “Some of our deepest satisfaction as a country comes from watching penniless immigrants arrive on our shores,
“The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC has averaged 410,000 viewers in the advertiser-sought adults 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen — that is her lowest tally of the Donald Trump presidency.
Maddow averaged 412,000 demo viewers in January 2017, which was the month Trump took office. May 2019 was the first time she dipped below that previous-low mark among those ages 25 to 54.

To be fair to Maddow, her all-in average of 2.6 million total viewers per show this month was better than several other months she experienced during Trump’s tenure.
“The Rachel Maddow Show” was still the third highest-rated primetime series across cable news, ranking behind only Fox’s “Hannity” and “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” That bronze rating holds for both the key demo and in terms of total viewers — it also means
In the primetime 8-11 p.m. slot, Fox News averaged 2.4 million total viewers (down 1% from the year-ago quarter), with including 421,000 in the key 25-54 demo, while MSNBC averaged 1.9 million total viewers (up 3% from 2018) and 333,000 in the 25-54 bracket.
MSNBC struck back in the 25-54 demo for individual shows, with Maddow beating out Sean Hannity’s Fnc program in Q1. Maddow drew 549,000 viewers in the key news demo on average, compared to Hannity’s 547,000 and Tucker Carlson’s 532,000.
However, ultimately the shows split bragging rights. Hannity bested Maddow in terms of average total viewership, drawing 3.12 million compared to 3.06. Maddow was followed by three other Fnc shows: “Tucker Carlson Tonight” (2.98 million), “The Five” (2.58 million) and “The Ingraham Angle” (2.43 million).
Interestingly, in the month of March,
For March, “Tucker Carlson Tonight” claimed cable news’ top spot in the 25-54 demo for the first time in the program’s history, with 537,000 viewers per night in that advertiser-coveted age range. His pal Sean Hannity was second with 533,000.
It’s worth noting here that Carlson had been No. 1 when he took over for Megyn Kelly in Fox’s 9 p.m. hour a few years ago, but this is his first win since replacing Bill O’Reilly in the 8 p.m. timeslot.
Carlson has been on Fox News at 8 o’clock for just under two years now, having launched this version on April 24, 2017.

“Not only did Smollett grow up in a communist household with ties to the Black Panthers, but he also works with Kamala Harris … one of the first Democrats to jump on this hoax — this obvious hoax — to use it to advance her own political agenda,” right wing journalist Chadwick Moore said.
“And then also on the other side of the political spectrum, you have [Cook County State’s Attorney] Kim Foxx … Kamala Harris was her mentor. Kim Foxx’s campaign was funded by George Soros — we know this now — and all it takes was a phone call from the Obamas to drop this prosecution,” he continued.

Before wading through the Fox News pile, Bee offered an audio recap of Carlson’s various radio spots with Florida
According to data company Samba TV, the show went from 36 advertisers on the Monday before the release of the tapes to 14 advertisers the day after.
Carlson remains the most-watched show at 8 p.m. in all of cable. But more than 30 advertisers have pulled their ads since December, when Carlson said that “an endless chain of migrant caravans” was making “our own country poorer, and dirtier, and more divided.” Media Matters has called on people to boycott businesses that advertise on the show.

Fox News declined to comment Wednesday, but has criticized the Media Matters campaign as politically motivated.
“Due to the inappropriate statements of Tucker Carlson that have recently come to light, Sheex has made the decision to cease advertising on his television program, Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the company said in a statement Tuesday.
The announcement came less than 24 hours after pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca pulled its ads from Carlson’s show.

On Sunday and Monday, liberal watchdog group Media Matters posted three separate compilations of audio from Carlson’s appearances on the “Bubba the Love Sponge Show” between 2006 and 2011. In the first batch, Carlson made disparaging remarks about women,
Fox News’ broadcast of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Monday night featured just four ad breaks and very few big national commercials, relying instead on direct-response ads and sundry promos for other Fox News programs and properties distributed by its parent company, 21st Century Fox. The show featured a strong monologue by the host, who responded on TV for the first time to the revelation by liberal advocacy group Media Matters of troublesome remarks Carlson made years ago on a radio talk show about celebrities as well as a convicted cult leader who was known to have organized marriages between his adult male followers and underage girls.
“Since the day we went on the air, they’ve
Before we get into Carlson’s “response,” here’s some context: As reported by Media Matters, Carlson called into the Bubba the Love Sponge shock jock radio program between 2006 and 2011 with disparaging remarks about women. In addition to calling them “extremely primitive” and claiming that they enjoy being told to “be quiet and kind of do what you’re told,” he also addressed several famous women specifically.
During a May 31, 2018 airing of his “Tucker Carlson Tonight” program, Carlson called the word “actually degrading” and said he didn’t know of any man who would use such language. Carlson made the remarks during a monologue calling out Bee called Ivanka Trump a “feckless c—” on air on her weekly TBS show “Full Frontal.”
“That one word that [Bee] used. I don’t know any man who uses that word because it is kind of the one word that is actually degrading,” Carlson told radio host Tammy Bruce on his own show.
Media Matters for America, a liberal advocacy group, posted excerpts from various broadcasts by Bubba the Love Sponge, a popular radio host whose real name is Todd Alan Clem. During various shows, Carlson made negative, often misogynistic remarks about some celebrities and appeared to defend Warren Jeffs, the religious leader who had been placed on the FBI’s most-wanted fugitive list on charges he had arranged marriages between his adult male followers and underage girls

Bregman, an author of several books on history, economics, and philosophy, claimed Carlson invited him on his show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to discuss his recent comments on billionaires at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, being too greedy and not paying enough taxes.
However, the interview got heated when Bregman called Carlson a “millionaire funded by billionaires” and saying “You’re not part of the solution, Mr. Carlson. You’re part of the problem.” Bregman released footage of the interview to NowThis News, which has been viewed more than 800,000 times on Twitter.
