Goofs

When the van, driven by the Chechen, is heading towards Chamonix, the road is obviously North American. French roads do not have double yellow lines (or any central yellow lines at all for that matter). Furthermore, when the camera pans out an American 'left curve' sign is visible. The French have International type road signs meaning this would be a left pointing arrow on a red-bordered white triangle. See more »

Quotes

James Greer: [to Ryan after church gas attack] A friend of mine in the Bureau told me a story. After 9/11, a guy who worked for American Airlines called the FBI tip line to turn himself in. He was working at Dulles the morning of the attacks, checking tickets at the gate business as usual. And these two Middle Eastern fellas come through the line. They presented their boarding passes, he checked them in and waved them on through. As they're walking away, he happened to look down at their shoes, and he ...

Jack Ryan

Jack Ryan is a character driven political thriller about a CIA Analyst who worked behind a desk, is apparently now cornered on a field mission when the relationship among nations are under threat.

Recreating the character on screen, Cuse and Roland, the creators, have managed to live up to the expectation, if not excel, with a much more busier bubble than previously this iconic character received. Cuse and Roland; the writers of the entire structure of the season had the heart in the right place, with a mature story line and elaborated projects that is chewed in appropriately.

But the subjective procedure and inputs from various writers and directors, blending in, overpowers the taste and leaves things bit under-cooked. The art design should deserve the well earned applause on pulling off such complex and practical sequences that easily makes you cringe on your seat.

The background score is decent, the sound effects are sharp and not unnecessarily loud, the action or chase sequences are well choreographed and performed, if not executed, with a decent cinematography and camera work that offers palpable poignant environment.

The performance objective, is left short in here and is something that may grow like a hazardous virus as it ages on screen, since no supporting cast is helping the protagonist Krasinski, which literally makes it feel like a one-man job.

It is basically a game of ping-pong, but is done with such finesse that it is thoroughly entertaining and if not anything the attempt to reach for a higher ideal is definitely appreciative. The writers offers a definite closure in each episode which is always adequate and shows sign of its mature perspective.

The weakest link of the entire series would be its love track that just doesn't fit, no matter how much the writers attempt to fluently install it in, it doesn't work and the reason to that is also it being short on editing which is daft at certain point.

The weaving of the structure is so transparent that even audience can see the steps falling in pieces in front of it. Few one-liners, a knack for saying the last word in a conversation, elaborative script and Krasinski at the heart of it are the high points of the series.

Season 01

For an introductory act, it is far better than we usually get, but the expectations are higher and since it shows potential every now and then in storytelling, it aches to see when it shucks it away, by being obliged to its commercial aspect.

End Of Honor

Extracting some of the sequences from the movies, this is a nail-biting episode brimmed with dramatic thrillers with a flashback sequence of the antagonist in order to offer it an appropriate depth.
