Revisiting Hamilton High: The Making of Hello Mary Lou Prom Night II (2015)
*** (out of 4)
Writer Ron Oliver is on hand to discuss HELLO MARY LOU: PROM NIGHT II, the sequel to the hit original. Oliver talks about him being a Monster Kid and how his love of horror movies has a connection to Alfred Hitchcock. From here Oliver talks about how he got involved with this film and then he talks about various things that happened during the production. Other subjects discussed include the horrid reviews that the film got in Canada, advice given to him by Wes Craven and a chance encounter with Jamie Lee Curtis.
If you're a fan of the film in question then you'll certainly enjoy this interview, which has Oliver sharing all sorts of good and funny stories including one dealing with a famous neighbor of his. You really get a great idea of what it was like to go through the writing process only to then have your work ripped apart by critics. Oliver comes across as a very fun person and someone you'd love to hear discuss other films.
