Trivia

Mackenzie Phillips makes an appearance in the One Day At a Time Reboot. She plays a counselor and a former veteran who is leading a support group for veterans with PTSD; which Penelope Alvarez (Justina Machado) is attending in episode 8 of the first season. The other surviving cast members from the original series, (Valerie Bertenelli; Glenn Scarpelli; Shelly Faberes, Michael Lembeck, Howard Hessman, Mary Louise Wilson, Richard Massur and Corey Feldman) have no plans to make any cameos on the reboot series; as of 5/2/2018, anyway. Although Phillip's onscreen husband, Michael Lembeck, who played Julie Cooper's husband Max Horvath, has directed an episode of the series. See more »

Goofs

In episode 4, Lydia relates the story of meeting her husband in Cuba as a young woman. However, this was contradicted in episode 9 when she states that she left Cuba as a minor during Operation Pedro Pan. See more »

Funny in unexpected ways!
8 March 2019 | by ameliz_violetaSee all my reviews

I gave it 9 stars because some episodes they get a little predictable with actual topics that affect people like the family portrayed in the show.

That's the only bad thing about the show! Rita Moreno is a Goddess. A talented and funny woman, her character is the glue to the show. If you arr hispanic, she is the SOFRITO to the show. Every ingredient is good, but the Sofrito is the base and ties everything together.

Is like a modern telenovela. There are no primary roles, every character plays an important part of the beautiful story. I think is originally funny, no recicled jokes!
