Realizing that her life in West Covina is nothing as she outwardly thought it was going to be, Rebecca, rather than hop on a plane to Hawaii with Josh as was her original plan, has instead hopped on a plane to New York City to resume her old life, with a guarantee of her old job if she wants it. Coincidentally, the person sitting next to her on the plane is Dr. Akopian, who she has not seen since her first failed therapy session months ago. With five hours on a plane together, Dr. Akopian suggests they attempt a real therapy session with their time, to which Rebecca agrees. Rebecca sees her primary problem as being a failure in the area of love, especially romantic love. On this topic, Rebecca finds that her session with Dr. Akopian is nothing as she rationally thought. Meanwhile, Paula finds out that Josh has not gone to Hawaii and as such Rebecca is probably not on her way to Hawaii as she thought. You know the trope? In storytelling it's a norm. When a person's in trouble a manifestation of their subconscious appears in the form of a dream ghost, giving advice you kinda already knew. I'm a dream ghost! I'm really just your mind working things through. It's not clear if I'm hallucinated or actually magic. Let's leave it vague, it's more interesting that way.
