Under NZT, Brian offers to capture the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted" criminals in two weeks in exchange for Naz giving him his own personal work "headquarters" at the agency. Under her reluctant agreement, Brian assigns various agents tasks while willing himself into developing a new felon-hunting technique through NZT - synesthesia, the ability to see fragrances and odors - but a snag develops when he finds one fugitive unlikely of his crime. To clear him expediently would take dosing him with NZT, but could the FBI ever agree to that? Meanwhile, the secretive nature of Brian's new life working for the Bureau creates a rift between him and his father.
