Did You Know?

Quarry picks up the newspaper off the kitchen table and there is an article about "Sugar Bates" in the headline, written by Jonathan Tropper. Sugar Bates is Frankie Faison's character in another Cinemax series, Banshee, which Greg Yaitanes (the director/producer of Quarry) was very involved with. The article refers to a known event in the history of the character of Sugar Bates and Jonathan Tropper, the writer of the article, is the creator of Banshee. The interesting thing is, that it suggests that Quarry and Banshee exist in the same universe. See more »

Quarry: It's okay, you know? I work for him, so...
Mary: Oh, wonderful. I'll be sure to look for you at the Christmas party.

Carnival of Souls
28 February 2017 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

The story is set at Halloween but I am sure there is more than a carnival of the souls taking place in Mac's mind. We see the cult film playing on television.

It is Marcus, Arthur's son that has discovered the money and he probably has figured that this is what Joni was looking for the other night. He keeps quiet about it but he is spending the dough, he might be way over his head as Moses is still hanging about.

The Broker is still playing mind games. Mac's debt to him has whittled down to about $12k but I am sure that he does not want to let a good man like Mac go. The Broker swatted away Buddy's business proposal because he wants to keep him as a hit-man. It is difficult to leave the Broker and there might be a reason why he showed up at the open house Joni was having.

Mac and Buddy have been sent on a job to take down the obese heroin dealer, but Buddy seems like a broken man unable himself to escape the Broker and a personal life that is down in the dumps. Taking booze and drugs when he is supposed to be on a hit, Mac is not happy with him.

Detective Olsen managed to get a lucky break as he followed Mac when Joni called him to the house as she thought someone was loitering about. Olsen has caught Mac bang in the middle of his assignment where both Mac and Buddy are in trouble.

As we head for the finale there does not seem to be a good ending in sight for anybody but at least we have a cliffhanger that leaves us intrigued.
