Storyline

Faced with prosecution for benefit fraud Gary flees to Rudley abbey and becomes a novice monk. He is not a success, his suggestion for a suggestion box antagonizing volatile second in command Brother Francis, who is even less impressed when Gary breaks the monastery bell. However Gary discovers that a past brother was an expert wine maker with his recipe still at the abbey so Gary goes into business marketing the wine though he has to stop when two of the monks get drunk trying to sell it. He opens a wine bar in the crypt but Francis is quick to shut it down. Fortunately he finds something in the monastery to sell on 'Antiques Road Show', thus gaining the money for another bell.
