The song played by Jeff Tweedy (as reunited band Land Hoe) at the Unity Concert is actually a song of his real band Wilco. The name of the song is Pickeled Ginger.

One of the bands at the Unity Concert is Bobby Knightranger, a Night Ranger cover band whose members are dressed as Indiana basketball coaching legend Bobby Knight. In the original pilot episode for the show, Ron had a poster of Knight in his office, but it had to be removed for legal reasons.

The producers say that the show got the band Letters to Cleo to play the event because Mark Rivers (show music supervisor and the drummer in Mouse Rat) was a real life member of the band Letters to Cleo. This is the band shirt that Ben wears many times throughout the show.

At Tom's restaurant opening, he expresses his disappointment that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth didn't show up, stating that he had hoped the night would have been magical enough to get them back together. They did get back togogether and engaged again two years after the episode aired, in 2016.

While trying to convince Tom to let him become a partner in Tom's Bistro, Dr. Saperstein lists some of the businesses in which he's a partner, including "a dry cleaning transactional holding company that is doing unbelievably well, I might add." In S6E14, it was a dry cleaning transactional holding company that Ben pitched to Tom as his next venture that Tom rejected in favor of Tom's Bistro at the angel investor pitch meeting.
