  • Deadline
After three years at Fox Sports, Cris Carter has been pink-slipped.

“Cris Carter is no longer with Fox Sports,” a spokesperson for the Murdoch-owned outlet announced Thursday of the former First Things First co-host and NFL Hall of Famer. “There is no further comment at this time.”

Along with that no further comment, there is no word who will replace the ex-Minnesota Vikings wide receiver on the Fs1 morning show fronted by Nick Wright and Jenna Wolfe. Former New York Giants lineman Chris Canty has been filling in Carter’s seat on First Things First for the past week. Whether that becomes a permanent replacement or not, the timing of when a new First Things First co-host will be made public still is being worked out, sources say.

Cassidy Freeman talks playing a bad-ass member of ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ [Exclusive Video Interview]
“Amber is definitely a wife and she definitely plays a role, but I don’t think of her that way. I think of it as a pretty bad-ass female character in a really incredible show,” Cassidy Freeman tells Gold Derby in an exclusive interview about starring on “The Righteous Gemstones” (watch the video above). Freeman explains about the eponymous characters, “You feel for these people; they have depth to them — they’re not just one- or two-note characters. They’re very complicated people and I hope that that is something that pulls people in even further than a regular comedy would.”

SEEFreeman’s biggest competition in her Golden Globe category.

After “Eastbound and Down” and “Vice Principals,” this new comedy is the third on HBO this decade from hyphenate Danny McBride, who also leads the cast as Amber’s televangelist husband Jesse Gemstone. “I didn’t have a lot of

Let’s step back in time shall we? To an age when women were objects of sexual desire and carried huge weapons… Nope I’m not talking about any of Andy Sidaris’ films but rather Girls Guns and Blood – a movie that harkens back to a politically incorrect time when tits and ass were all the rage and when budgets didn’t stretch to an named stars. Though to be fair to writer/director Robert Rowland his cast includes a few familiar names, well familiar if you know your adult cinema!

Dwayne Johnson Officially Announces Black Adam Start Date

It’s been an eternity since we first heard that Dwayne Johnson was cast as Black Adam. He’s the perfect choice for the role, not to mention that combining superheroes and The Rock is basically a license to print money. And yet, five long years have ticked with the project in development hell, with the character not even making a cameo appearance in Shazam!

Most of that’s probably down to Johnson’s heroic work commitments, which usually see him having several movies in production while also running his show Ballers. But now it seems like the wheels are finally turning for Black Adam, as the star has just tweeted out a confirmation that production will begin in July 2020.

Very cool man, thank you.

Amazing detail.

This project has been with me for over 10yrs

Production begins this July.

Appreciate the support. #blackadam #dc https://t.co/h8TPXMbcTx

HBO’s ‘Succession’ Season 2 Finale Ratings Jump 12% Over Season 1’s on Strong Digital Viewing

  • The Wrap

The media-empire drama’s second season, created and showrun by Jesse Armstrong, concluded with an episode that posted 1.1 million viewers across multiple HBO platforms on Sunday, according to the pay TV channel. The overall-eyeballs tally, which counts the initial 9 p.m. airing on HBO, as well as streams on HBO Go and HBO Now, is down a bit from the series record the show hit with its Season 2 premiere on Aug. 11, which drew 1.2 million multiplatform viewers.

‘Succession’ Star Brian Cox on Finale’s ‘Blood Sacrifice’ Twist, Logan’s Smirk and the Chicken Thief

  • The Wrap
(Warning: This post contains spoilers for the Season 2 finale of “Succession.”)

The Roy Family upped their backstabbing ante with the second season finale of HBO’s “Succession” on Sunday night, moving from bear hugs to blood sacrifices in a twist that family psychologists might be analyzing for years to come: Kendall (Jeremy Strong), the first — er, second-born son of Logan Roy (Brian Cox) — decided to disobey his father’s order to take responsibility for the Waystar Royco cruise division coverup and instead threw his dad under the bus during a press conference designed to bring the whole ordeal to an end.

While watching his son do this on TV — from his lavish yacht in the Mediterranean — Logan couldn’t help but smile. Was it because he was proud of Kendall — who Logan told earlier in the episode that he’s just not enough of a “killer” to take over the

‘Ballers’ Finale: Dwayne Johnson’s Good-Time NFL Show Leaves a Strange Legacy

[Editor’s Note: The following review includes spoilers for “Ballers,” including Season 5, but not the series finale.]

“Ballers” never felt like a serious show. Offering a glammed-up look inside the life of ex-nfl star Spencer Strasmore (played by a besuited Dwayne Johnson), Stephen Levinson’s HBO pseudo-comedy kept the stakes pretty low, even in its final season. Big spending led to big paychecks, which led to bigger spending and bigger paychecks, until Spencer had accumulated enough wealth to be a viable option for NFL ownership. Audiences never needed to worry if ol’ Spence was gonna be okay, just if he was going to be able to afford the expensive things — his own agency, acquiring other agencies, an NFL team — he craved.

And yet serious issues still popped up, like a tag-along tax on all that big money being thrown around. As Levinson and his team of writers searched for appropriate challenges for their uber-rich characters, the real-world weaved its way into “Ballers.” But rather than engage with such relevant matters as Cte,
