Storyline

The Bubble is coming out at a crucial time in American history. America needs a simple economics lesson on the coming crash. Tom Woods wrote a NY Times bestseller on the housing crash and now he has teamed up with experts such as Ron Paul, Peter Schiff, Jim Rogers, Marc Faber, David Stockman, and Doug Casey to reveal where these financial bubbles keep coming from. The Bubble features interviews with those who actually predicted the housing crisis and recession. Austrian economists have predicted every major US crash in the last century, and they are the only ones with the insight necessary to bring us out of this economic slide. This film asks them why this crisis happened, but more importantly, why do they think the next one will be a lot worse. Written by Jimmy Morrison

Himself (The Daily Show): And they keep saying, 'No, no, no, don't worry about it. It's the free market. That's why we live in much bigger houses," but it really isn't. It's the Fed, or some other thing, no? - September 18, 2007

Best economic documentary of all time
29 June 2019 | by ZachRPhillipsSee all my reviews

It is not hyperbole when I call this film the best economic documentary of all time. You'll learn more about economics, bubbles & crashes from 'The Housing Bubble' than you will any other film about economics. Throughout the film we hear from economists & business people who predicted the housing crisis, many of whom were laughed at and dismissed at the time. While the film is solely about economics in the United States, the message & the information is still relevant to other countries, such as Australia where the narrator of the film is from, or essentially any country with a reserve bank.

Purely on a film making level, 'The Housing Bubble' knocks it out of the park. The editing is brilliant and it keeps the film entertaining all the way through, which is not very common in educational documentaries. Also, even someone who doesn't really care about economics could watch this and find it intriguing, which is a real testament to the filmmakers.

Some people will hear about a documentary on economic bubbles and think that they will be bored to death by such a movie, and honestly, I don't blame them. For a political person such as myself, 'The Housing Bubble' is fascinating, however it's obvious that it won't be for everyone. Hopefully there will be some individuals out there (who may not know much about economics) who discover this film in one way or another and have their eyes widened & minds expanded by the information presented, of which there is a lot.
