Storyline

Father Joe McMurtry was fatally shot after meeting his childhood friend, Mickey Dolan, who is now a big Irish mobster. Taking the case allows Castle and Becket to escape from a disastrous dinner where his mother, as host, and her father, Jim, have a disagreement, which spills over into grim tensions between the sleuth couple. Calling on Leo, the only witness who may talk, they lose all means of communication while gangsters set out to chase to them. Ryan and Esposito realize they must be in big trouble when they can't contact them. They do some sleuthing of their own and come up with an FBI link which proves their basic assumptions are wrong. Meanwhile, Dolan catches up with Castle. Written by KGF Vissers

Trivia

Contrary to Castle's insistence that the NYC subways do not have schedules, Beckett is correct. Subway trains do have individual schedules and timetables, for regular weekdays as well as adjusted schedules during planned construction. The interval (time of day or night) at which the train leaves the terminal is used to identify that train in the event of an incident or delay. See more »

Goofs

Becket breaks a parked car window to get a cellphone but then says that she cannot use it to call for help because it is password-protected. 911 call can be made without unlocking the phone on any phone sold today as a mandatory feature. Previously Becket pointed out to Castle that he doesn't need a dollar to call 911 from a payphone. See more »
