Manhattan's NYPD precinct 2-2 'welcomes' its share of recruits from another class of police academy, albeit in far from warmly, from arrival as seniors guard their locker privileges jealously. After a depressing speech, field training officer Daniel "Yoda" Dean, their grumpy mentor, splits them into three pairs, each confronted with challenges and, despite different attitudes backgrounds, all earning scoldings for lessons learned the hard way. "Yoda" the van driver is played by Terry Kinney best known for and since as the bleeding heart misguided liberal and often crying (as they do when life intrudes on fantasy belief of "I wish the world was" dreams) wimpy Tim McManus of the best real life prison drama OZ which is still too much for any type of syndicated run. The hour show would be about 17 minutes after censors cut it up. See more »


In the stand-off scene Adam Goldberg and Judy Marte keep switching pistols (obvious rubber dummies by the way) back and forth. Marte carries a Glock 19 when she is disarmed and then she and Goldberg take turns between shots as to who is holding a Glock 19 and a who is holding a SIG Sauer 226 or 229. This is most obvious when Goldberg is talking to the suspect and puts his pistol on the sofa as it goes from being a Glock to a SIG to a Glock to a SIG. See more »
