Honestly, has there ever been a movie about a dog that wasn't a tearjerker? The flick - which stars Milo Ventimiglia, Amanda Seyfried, and a very cute Golden Retriever voiced by Kevin Costner - looks like a total sob fest, and the This Is Us star basically already confirmed as much. "It's a really, really beautiful film," Ventimiglia said during his interview at at Popsugar Play/Ground. "I'm in the business of tears because of my role on This Is Us. Even I cried a little bit." Oh, jeez. We're toast.

Just like Marley & Me, The Art of Racing in the Rain is based on a bestselling novel of the same name. Gareth Stein's 2008 novel tells the story

'Avengers: Endgame' Leads Record-Breaking April at the Domestic Box Office

'Avengers: Endgame' Leads Record-Breaking April at the Domestic Box Office
At the end of March, the 2019 box office was at its lowest point when compared to the five last years and trailing 2018 by -16%. By the end of a record-setting April at the domestic box office, that gap in the year-over-year performance started to close with 2019 now trailing 2018 by -11.8%, and just seven days into May that gap continues to shrink as we move into summer 2019. April 2019 saw record box office grosses topping $1.034 billion in ticket sales, the bulk of which was earned over the final days of the month thanks to the record-breaking release of Avengers: Endgame, which brought in over $427 million (41.3%) of the month's total grosses. Last year the April box office topped $1 billion for the first time ever, led by Avengers: Infinity War, which also delivered a record-breaking opening, but in the end that film's $282.4 million comprised only 27.5% of the month's overall box office. All that being said,

‘A Dog’s Journey’ Film Review: Reincarnating Dog Returns to the Margins of a Young Girl’s Troubles

‘A Dog’s Journey’ Film Review: Reincarnating Dog Returns to the Margins of a Young Girl’s Troubles
There is apparently a sizable overlap between people who like films in which cute dogs scamper around happily, and people who like films in which cute dogs drop dead every half an hour. In 2017, “A Dog’s Purpose” catered to both groups by telling the tale of Bailey, whose soul transmigrates into the body of a newborn pup whenever he dies. He is granted a different name, breed, and (sometimes) gender with each metempsychosis, but his enthusiastic thoughts are always voiced by Josh Gad, and he retains his loyalty to his favorite master, Ethan, played in the film’s later scenes by Dennis Quaid.

Critics agreed that “A Dog’s Purpose” was, well, a dog, but Bailey, who can recall his past lives, is back in the sequel, “A Dog’s Journey”.

Again, it is a glossily nostalgic and moralistic Nicholas Sparks-style melodrama co-written by W. Bruce Cameron, and adapted from his novel.

A Dog's Way Home opened earlier this month to decent box office. Many believed it was the successor to the hit 2017 family drama A Dog's Purpose. Today, we have the trailer and a poster for A Dog's Journey. It isn't deja vu. This is a wholly original family adventure that takes a strange spiritual turn and hints at doggy reincarnation. It's sure to be another crowd pleaser. But if you couldn't stand watching Marely kick the bucket, you might want to bring a whole box of Kleenex, as Bailey the dog is going to die multiple times. But it's all for a good purpose.

Some friendships transcend lifetimes. In A Dog's Journey, the sequel to the heartwarming global hit A Dog's Purpose,

The Upside Steals Top Spot at the Box Office as Aquaman Crosses $1B

Early predictions had Aquaman taking the top spot at the box office this weekend, winning its fourth in a row. But The Upside slid in and surprised everyone with a $19.5 million win. The drama arrived amidst controversy over Kevin Hart's role as potential Oscars host. Though he has stepped down from that position, it's clear audiences still want to watch him work.

Coming from STXfilms and Lantern Entertainment, The Upside is an adaptation of the hit French movie Les Intouchables. Kevin Hart stars opposite Bryan Cranston and their on-screen chemistry was enough to make this drama a box office hit. It's $19.5 million take doubles early estimates, and it has since earned an A Cinema score. The film was directed by Neil Burger, who already has films like The Illusionist and Limitless under his belt. Nicole Kidman also appears in the movie, which didn't hurt anything.
