Storyline

Christmas carolers hear gunshots; a man, smeared with blood, staggers outside and pleads for help; the speaker is Lance, a recently discharged Navy lieutenant and intelligence officer, diagnosed with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after a tour in Afghanistan; he says that inside his home he saw a shootout, which killed two men; the victims are a Navy ensign (Scott) and a small-time drug dealer (Mancuso); Callen and company investigate. Kensi and Deeks take Lance back to his bungalow, where Lance makes a confession; Eric and Nell find a connection and a number of details; while Kensi and Lance talk and walk, a stranger draws a piece and takes aim, so Kensi opens fire; Eric and Nell get a match on facial recognition; G and Sam pick up some scoop about Lance, and Kensi runs into trouble with Lance, who leaves; the four musketeers attend a meeting at the Santa Monica Pier, where they stop Lance and a bad guy. Kensi finishes putting the pieces together. Written by DocRushing

Goofs

The dialogue refers to Scott variously as a nurse, an ensign, and a hospital corpsman; in an official photograph he wears the collar bars of an ensign but not the device of the Nurse Corps, thus implying that he's NOT a nurse but rather a line officer. If Scott were a nurse, he'd be a member of the Nurse Corps, and he'd wear the appropriate corps device on his left collar. Finally, a hospital corpsman is NOT either a nurse or a (commissioned) officer at all but rather an enlisted member and a petty (noncommissioned) officer. See more »
