Lance Bass Inks With ICM Partners Ahead Of ‘Boy Band Con’ Bow At SXSW

  • Deadline
Exclusive: ICM Partners said Thursday it has signed Lance Bass and his production company. The news comes ahead of the world premiere of the feature documentary The Boy Band Con: The Lou Pearlman Story at SXSW, on which Bass is an executive producer.

Boy Band Con, which will bow March 13 at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, centers on the rise and fall of Pearlman, the notorious record producer and convicted fraudster who was behind hit 1990s and early 2000s acts including Backstreet Boys, O-Town and Bass’ Nsync. It is slated to eventually premiere on YouTube.

Pearlman was convicted in 2008 for running a $300 million Ponzi scheme among other felonies and got a 25-year prison sentence. He died in 2016 at age 62.

Nsync sold more than 80 million records worldwide, led by its 2000 album No Strings Attached which sold a then-record 1.1 million copies in its first day of release.

Lance Bass Productions, which has produced several documentaries,

We thought we had a line on him after his first couple of performances but we were thrown a curve ball when the famous fellow we had pegged as the Rabbit said it wasn’t him. Since then, we’ve been reviewing his appearances on the show as well as the clues videos. And we revisited that star’s denial and realized he left a little wiggle room in his wording. Spoilers ahead.

The Rabbit is Joey Fatone, best known for being in the boy band Nsync. However, there remains the outside chance that it is Joey’s one-time bandmate, Jc Chasez. Despite what judges Nicole Scherzinger and Ken Jeong said about the Rabbit not being a professional singer. This is

‘The Masked Singer’ spoilers: The Rabbit is …
Are you as addicted to “The Masked Singer” as we are? Upwards of 10 million people are tuning in each week to watch this reality competition series. At the end of the second episode on Wednesday (Jan. 9), we were shocked by the unmasking of one of the six celebrities who had performed (the Pineapple turned out to be comedian Tommy Chong). The winner of the first sing-off on episode two was the Rabbit. He won with a rollicking rendition of “Livin’ la Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin. (Watch his show-stopping performance in the video above.)

Natalie Portman (‘Vox Lux’) on her new role: ‘This innocent child grows up into this monster’ [Exclusive Video Interview]
The interview below contains Spoilers for the film “Vox Lux.”

The new movie “Vox Lux” from actor-turned-director Brady Corbett begins with a bang and yet something quite familiar in modern day America: a school shooting. The manner in which the opening segment of the film unfolds is still very startling and sets everything in motion for the main character of Celeste. She is a teenager (played by Raffey Cassidy) who survives the classroom murders, writes and performs a song about it for the memorial and becomes a worldwide pop star over the first hour of the movie. It then jumps forward many years to reveal a far more jaded, world-weary, belligerent version of Celeste (now played by Natalie Portman).

In our recent interview with Portman (watch the exclusive video above), she discusses “Vox Lux” and playing the grow-up Celeste following Cassidy’s performance. She says, “We really didn’t coordinate

Quote of the Day: Natalie Portman on What the Woody Allen Conversations Are Missing

Portman in “Annihilation”: Paramount Pictures

Natalie Portman has never been one to remain silent about gender inequality in Hollywood. She’s spoken out about receiving one-third of co-star Ashton Kutcher’s pay for “No Strings Attached,” lobbied for a female director to helm the Ruth Bader Ginsburg biopic she was then attached to, and has become one of the driving forces behind the Time’s Up initiative. Now, while doing press for her upcoming sci-fi flick “Annihilation,” Portman is using her platform to discuss why we shouldn’t be worrying about Woody Allen’s career prospects.

BuzzFeed broached the subject of Allen, as well as the accusations of molestation against him made by his daughter Dylan Farrow and the numerous actors who have expressed regret over working with the “Annie Hall” director. When asked if she thinks Allen is finished in Hollywood, Portman replied that the whole dialogue ought to be reframed.

Justin Timberlake (‘Man of the Woods’) has the biggest first-week sales since Taylor Swift, but he’s done better before

Justin Timberlake (‘Man of the Woods’) has the biggest first-week sales since Taylor Swift, but he’s done better before
Justin Timberlake‘s “Man of the Woods” received somewhat mixed reviews — scoring 54 on MetaCritic — and so did his Super Bowl Halftime Show, which 44% of our readers thought was just “okay.” But that didn’t stop him from debuting at number-one on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Not only that, it’s the biggest bow for an album since Taylor Swift moved more 1.24 million album units in November 2017.

Okay, so Timberlake’s latest album wasn’t the blockbuster that Swift’s “Reputation” was, but it was still the best week for a male artist since Kendrick Lamar dropped “Damn” last spring. “Man of the Woods” topped the chart in its debut week with 293,000 equivalent album units, which are calculated by combining traditional album sales with individual track sales and online streams. Timberlake’s impressive total includes 242,000 in traditional sales.

That’s actually a modest some compared to some of his previous chart-toppers.
