Kari Skogland To Direct 6-Part ‘The Falcon And The Winter Soldier’ Miniseries With Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Bruhl & Emily Van Camp
Exclusive: Kari Skogland has been set to direct the six-part Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, with Avengers: Endgame‘s Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan starring. Sources said Captain America: Civil War‘s Daniel Bruhl and Emily Van Camp are also in talks to join. The miniseries will air in August 2020.

I’d heard that Mackie’s accepting the shield from Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame will figure into the miniseries, but the studio had no comment on where it goes.

Bruhl played Zemo in Captain America: Civil War, the mastermind who drove a wedge between Captain America and Iron Man that factored into the Avengers films, and the murderer of Black Panther’s father. Malcolm Spellman (Empire) has been writing.

Skogland is the Emmy-nominated, BAFTA-winning director, showrunner and CEO of Mad Rabbit, a Red Arrow Studios company, which launched in 2016. She has directed episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale,

Agyness Deyn and Jim Sturgess on Hard Sun: 'It felt like our bodies were going to combust'

The stars of the apocalyptic TV cop drama talk about breakdowns on set, learning how to fight with knuckledusters – and being nothing but a pair of blaggers

It’s Jim Sturgess’s mother you have to feel sorry for. “She asks me, ‘Why are you always getting beaten up?’ She finds it quite distressing, watching me get my arse kicked,” he says. She has a point. In the 2008 thriller Fifty Dead Men Walking, the 39-year-old played a British agent infiltrating the Ira who got beaten up repeatedly. In the forthcoming movie Feed the Beast, he gets a kicking from the Polish mob. “It’s just never ending,” he says.

Production Begins on Alexandre Aja’s ‘The 9th Life of Louis Drax’

  • DailyDead
With movies like the revenge-via-circular-saw High Tension and the skin-shredding Piranha remake, director Alexandre Aja has memorably dunked his characters in the blood bucket. But Aja’s next project, an adaptation of The 9th Life of Louis Drax, is more a supernatural thriller than a blood-and-bones picture, and principal photography on the film has now begun.

“Vancouver and London, October 27, 2014 – Miramax, the global film and television producer and distributor, along with the film’s producers AntColony Films and Brightlight Pictures announced today the start of principal photography on the supernatural thriller The 9th Life of Louis Drax starring Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey, The Fall), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Need for Speed, Triple Nine) and Sarah Gadon (Dracula Untold, The Amazing Spider-man 2).

History Orders Sons Of Liberty Miniseries

History is making another addition to its original programming with an order for a new miniseries, Sons of Liberty. Hot off the continued success of Vikings, and the critical acclaim of other miniseries efforts (like The Bible and Hatfields & McCoys), the network now aims at what looks like a pretty interesting take on the lives of the biggest names of the American Revolution.

It seems as though we’re going for a “no really, they were just actual people,” approach to things, apparently trying to show that these were real men, with real lives and real problems, who threw themselves into something, probably far beyond their expectations. That could be a story worth telling, and there are some great cast members involved. Some audiences may have to be convinced that Ryan Eggold can get them to like him after he so recently got them to hate him on The Blacklist,

Shadow Dancer gets mixed verdict from ex-ira infiltrators

Sean O'Callaghan says film captures 'paranoia and brutality' inside Ira, but Martin McGartland questions its authenticity

Two agents who infiltrated the Ira have offered radically different interpretations of Shadow Dancer, the acclaimed new film about a female informer working for Britain inside the republican terror group.

Sean O'Callaghan, whom a former Irish prime minister described as the Republic's most important agent inside the Provisional Ira, said the movie was a "real and true" portrayal of what life was like for an informer inside a terrorist organisation.

But Martin McGartland, who worked as a British state agent inside the Ira's Belfast Brigade during the late 1980s and early 90s, disputed the film's authenticity.

The pair agreed to review the film for the Guardian drawing on their insider knowledge of the Ira as well as their respective experiences with handlers in the security forces.

The film is based on a novel by
