Hotel Chevalier is a 15 minute short film written and directed by Wes Anderson and stars Jason Schwartzman and Natalie Portman. In the short film, Jason Schwartzman stars as a depressed man hiding away at a hotel in Paris whom is visited by manipulative former lover (Natalie Portman).
It's hinted why Jack broke up with his Ex Girlfriend. When Jack's Ex Girlfriend arrives at his hotel room, she is seen talking to someone on her mobile phone and when Jack removes her trousers and knickers and makes out with her on top of the bed, Jack notices she has bruises on her body. This hints that Jack's Ex girlfriend may had cheated on him and that she could had been abused by her lover.
In the short film, Jack's Ex Girlfriend wears a armless white blouse which Jack's Ex Girlfriend removes when she makes out with Jack on top of the bed. This is a nod to Natalie Portman's earlier film Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) which Padme Amidala Natalie Portman wore a white suit in that film, which her bare stomach is exposed when the character gets scratched on the back by a Nexu.
