Storyline

There have been a rash of "middle of the night" break-in burglaries at the commercial establishments on Main Street in Garrison, Washington, the latest to be hit being the pharmacy. Out for an early morning run, Garrison Police Detective Claire Tate is knocked unconscious and hospitalized in coming across the burglary in progress. Meanwhile, Garrison Community Playhouse is mounting a production of Shadow of Death. Movie and stage star Bella Brightman, who, along with her current husband Duncan Spencer, own property in town, has agreed to star in this community theater production as a favor to the town. Because she specializes in crime fiction, Elmstead College English Professor Amy Winslow is the production's dramaturge. There seems to be as much drama behind the scenes as there is on stage, as there may or may not be secret romantic liaisons between various people working on the production, much of the scuttlebutt centered on Bella, which is probably why seemingly jealous Duncan has ... Goofs

Detective Travis Burke asks Russ (CSI tech?) if he got any fingerprints off the bullet that was fired into a mirror. This would be impossible, as there could be no fingerprints left on a bullet after it is fired. The friction of the bullet going down the barrel and the groves cut into the bullet by the rifling would remove all fingerprints. While fingerprints might be found on the brass shell casing, there was no mention of the brass being found, which gives the impression the gun used was a revolver. See more »

WOW! Best Mystery Series Ever!!!
24 June 2019 | by agambreSee all my reviews

Kudos to the casts' performance but specially to the writers! The plot was so unpredictable in a way that it's hard to guess what will come next. Like the first episode, I couldn't guess the bad guy until the very end. Jill and Kris did it again. The back and forth bantering between them was so much fun to watch. But I'm glad that this episode has a little bit more rom-com between Amy/Travis and Claire/Bud as well. I hope such rom-com continue to all future episodes. It makes mysteries fun! Way to go Hallmark!!!
