A heat wave has descended upon the camps. Miserable, they play cards to pass the time and find a large box had been left behind by the mailman. Pruett's mother has sent an air conditioner to him from their butler's pantry. Mahala May and Caprice conspire to get the air conditioner for themselves. A kiss from Caprice sends Pruett into his shakes and he consents to give the air conditioner to her. Wivenhoe won't allow it, as the two camps battle over possession. The sheriff comes to settle the dispute and decides in the girls' favor. However, Caprice loses it in a poker game with Wivenhoe. Now, he says he owns it and has the men install it in his tent. Wivenhoe invites the sheriff to stay over at camp in his cool tent, in appreciation of his settling in his favor. Meanwhile, the other men are tired of chasing around a small room fan. Spiffy feels Wivenhoe is being unfair and Doc declares the tent condemned. Spiffy leads the men to sneak into Wivenhoe's tent for the night. The girls also plot a scheme, leading to an unexpected result.
