Who Is Zahra Amir on General Hospital? — Meet Maysoon Zayid

That's Maysoon Zayid playing Zahra Amir, Shiloh's lawyer on General Hospital. She describes herself on her own website as a "comedian, actress, disability advocate, and tap dancer." Well, now that dream has finally come true! And better still, the actress revealed the week after her first episode: "It's official! I'm recurring!" So as Shiloh's case continues, look for Zayid to make even more appearances. Zahra Amir made her debut in the June 21 episode when Diane Miller ran into her at the courthouse. Zahra is representing Shiloh in his custody battle over the child he believes to be his son, Wiley. In a town known for talented take-no-prisoners attorneys like Diane, Alexis Davis, and Scotty Baldwin,

Netflix's Week Of Trailer Reunites Adam Sandler and Chris Rock

Netflix has released the first trailer and photo for The Week Of, which reunites comedy superstars Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. This movie also marks the fourth of Adam Sandler's original four-movie deal with Netflix that he signed back in 2014, following The Ridiculous Six, The Do-Over and Sandy Wexler.

This Netflix comedy won't be the end of their deal with Adam Sandler, though, with the comedian signing on for four more movies with Netflix. The streaming service claimed in a statement from last March that the first two movies of their Adam Sandler deal, the ensemble Western comedy The Ridiculous Six and the action-comedy The Do-Over, which reunited Sandler and David Spade, were the "biggest film releases" for Netflix,

Netflix's 'Ridiculous 6' Trailer Has Adam Sandler in the Old West
Adam Sandler is galloping to Netflix this December in the original comedy movie The Ridiculous 6. The first trailer and poster have arrived, and it actually looks, dare we say, funny? The popular comedian is joined by a cavalcade of stars for this bizarre Western that is certainly unlike anything you've ever seen before. Unless you've seen some of Adam Sandler's more off-the-wall movies like Little Nicky and You Don't Mess with the Zohan.

The Ridiculous 6 is the first of four Adam Sandler movies produced exclusively for Netflix. The jaw-dropping cast includes Adam Sandler's Grown Ups 2 co-star Taylor Lautner. The former Twilight heartthrob makes up one of the 6, and is joined by Terry Crews, Jorge Garcia, Rob Schneider and Luke Wilson.

But they're not the only comedy luminaries making an appearance in this throw back to such 70s classics as Blazing Saddles and The Frisco Kid.

Sony Employees Really Wish They’d Release Fewer Adam Sandler Films
When an unknown group of hackers (who may or may not be North Korean) leaked thousands of Sony's files, we didn't just find out what K. Fed was paid to cameo in The Interview and whether Annie's any good or not. In a text file called "Sony_2012_Comments," we also found a treasure trove of feedback from unknown Sony employees. Gawker sorted through the whole thing and found one common complaint: People at Sony really don't like working for a place that makes so many Adam Sandler movies. (Since 2008, the studio has released You Don't Mess With the Zohan, Grown Ups, Just Go With It, Jack and Jill, That's My Boy, and Grown Ups 2.)A selection of the employee complaints: Be more focussed and ruthless in directing our resources to businesses that will sustain the long term health of Spe - networks, broadcast TV shows, new movie franchises, digital

The 4 Movies Adam Sandler Absolutely Should Make for Netflix

News broke this week that Adam Sandler, the clown prince of Hollywood who has seen recent big screen efforts like "Blended" fail terribly at the box office, signed a four-picture deal with Netflix, you know, that thing that steals your entire weekend because you decided it was a good idea to re-watch all of "The X-Files." It was something of a groundbreaking move, considering that Netflix has largely been the home of older films and, more recently, original television programming. This is a big step in whatever grand designs Netflix has, a truly expensive and envelope-pushing endeavor that raises a number of provocative questions.

Perhaps the biggest and loudest question, of course, is: what will the movies be?

We think we have some pretty good ideas, things that would make his collaboration with Netflix as innovative on a creative side as it is on a business one (keep in mind

That’s My Boy (review)

I don’t know what I was thinking. Why would I subject myself to this? Adam Sander’s pedophilia and child-abuse comedy? I knew -- I knew -- it was going to be dreadful. Abysmal, even. So why did I bother? Was it the eternal cinematic optimist in me? I mean, I’m open to an Adam Sandler movie making me laugh. It’s happened before: I’m not ashamed to admit that I found You Don't Mess With the Zohan surprisingly funny and unexpectedly sweet. But it was not to be in this case. That’s My Boy isn’t as bad as the trailer made it look -- it’s worse. This may be the most repulsive movie I’ve ever seen. Seventh-grader Donny (Justin Weaver) is repeatedly raped by teacher Miss McGarricle (Eva Amurri Martino: Saved!, The Banger Sisters), but you’d barely guess a crime had been committed here.

Adam Sandler To Go West With 'Ridiculous 6'

Adam Sandler To Go West With 'Ridiculous 6'
Adam Sandler is going to be getting his spoof on in his next movie.

Deadline is reporting that Sandler is working on a comedy western for Paramount Pictures called "Ridiculous 6." Though the plot hasn't been announced, we can guess the direction the film is headed in based on its title. It might not be quite as catchy, but this film seems to be a riff off "The Magnificent Seven." It will start shooting in April 2013.

That film, of course, is a remake of the Akira Kurosawa movie "Seven Samurai." To speak generally, both projects follow a group of seven warriors (samurai in "Seven Samurai," gunmen in "Magnificent Seven") who are hired by a group of villagers to protect them from invading bandits. It's an iconic tale, but it's easy to see how Sandler could spin it into a comedy. At least it's a bit different than what he's done recently,

Adam Sandler Goes West

Adam Sandler Goes West
Westerns might be dead, but don't tell that to Adam Sandler. According to, Sandler is set to star in "Ridiculous 6," a Western comedy about ... well, not much. No plot details are known, but Sandler will produce and co-write the film for Paramount, with hopes to start production next spring.

As THR notes, the big news here is Sandler's shift to Paramount from Sony. The actor's last six films -- "Grown Ups," "Just Go With It," "Jack and Jill," "That's My Boy," "Hotel Transylvania" and the upcoming "Grown Ups 2" -- were all released by Sony, which is also the studio behind Sandler hits like "Click," "You Don't Mess With the Zohan," "50 First Dates," "Anger Management," "Mr. Deeds" and "Big Daddy." (Paramount released "The Longest Yard" back in 2005.) Per the trade, Sony is in the midst of some financial belt-tightening and allowed the project move to the rival studio.
