Jungle Jim is asked to put a stop to a strange man's threat that is frightening workers on a nearby plantation.
Jungle Jim receives a request for assistance from his old friend Wilhelm Camphausen, the owner of a rubber plantation in Sumatra. Someone or something is destroying rubber trees and attacking the native workers' village. The natives believe a wild man is behind the outrages and insist on defending their homes instead of tapping the rubber trees. When Jungle Jim captures "The Wild Man", Wilhelm discovers that the man is actually a British officer who was unaware that World War II had ended ten years earlier. Nevertheless, the natives still blame the emaciated flight lieutenant for injuring their friends and prepare to execute the captive.
