Count Balkovitch: I am here under a flag of truce.
Prince Gregor: What do you want?
Count Balkovitch: What would you say if I told you I have an offer for you?
Prince Gregor: I would say beware of murderous tartars bearing gifts.

A middling sort of episode
18 April 2017 | by shaksprynSee all my reviews

Despite a good guest cast, and the presence of Artie, this is one of the weaker entries in this usually fine series. The main problem is that the story in this one just feels tired. This series is at its best when there is a colorful, interesting villain, some weird scheme of villainy, one or two lovely ladies for our boys to flirt with, and plenty of good action.

One of the fun aspects the episode does have, is a chance to see lovely Mary Frann, famous for eight seasons on Newhart, guesting here in her younger days, and she is most attractive, with more décolletage on display than we ever saw in Newhart! In this episode she is going by the stage name of Jennifer Douglas, which she used for a few years, well before Newhart. We also have the fine actors Guy Stockwell and Nina Foch. Nina was a femme fatale in some film noir 1940s films. A decent episode, but not among the best.
