Emily Prince: Mr. Kane, what did he mean when he said, "Sodbusters"?
Simon Kane: Homesteaders.
Emily Prince: You sound as though you don't approve of them.
Simon Kane: Miss Prince, I've had Indians tell me that if somebody turned this country grass side down, it would blow away. To a certain degree I have to go along with the Indians.
Emily Prince: So you go along with the Indians and you hate homesteaders?
Simon Kane: Look, I drive a stagecoach and I don't even hate horses. I don't hate homesteaders - but I know some people that do.

Homesteaders beware.
10 August 2016 | by kfo9494See all my reviews

Gil Soames and Tom Coogan are homesteading in the area near the half-way house on the prairie. It seems the two are not welcomed by the cattle association and have been given threats to move off the land. The cattlemen have hired an known gunman named Mel Harney to make sure the two men move and if they refuse there will be other ways to get rid of the men.

Gil just happens to be in a nearby town buying clothes to meet a woman, that is coming by stagecoach, to marry. Tom is on the land when Mel makes his appearance. He accuses Tom of stealing cattle and without warning- shoots and kills the man. He also knows that Gil is set on meeting a woman at the half-way cabin the following day. Mel makes his way to the cabin.

When Simon and Davey ride up to the cabin, they have Ms Emily Prince as a passenger. Inside the cabin, Mel is already waiting and it seems that Emily and Mel are old friends. Soon Mel's reputation is learned by the rest and his presents can only mean that he is gunning for the remaining homesteader. Wedding bells may not be in the future.

The story was pleasant enough and the actors performed well. It just seemed to take a long time to approach the climax of the tale. They did finally let Davey have more of an adult role as he got to ride out on a dangerous mission with his father. The episode had just enough interest to keep the viewer watching even though, at times, the story seemed reaching to increase the time in order to get the allotted minutes filled. Overall, a nice western story to watch.
