The Sliders end up in a desert wasteland battered by an endless series of tornadoes. They find one agrarian village run by a dictatorial elder. Wade finds herself imprisoned while the rest are banished without the timer.

Quinn tells Rembrandt that the wind phenomenon the young boy is about to "ride" is not a dust devil, but a twister. However tornadoes (aka "twisters") always form in contact between the ground and a storm cloud. As there are no clouds at all in the sky, the spinning formation is in fact a dust devil. See more
