Storyline

Peyton fakes an electricity blackout to get into Charles and Eleanor's home to retrieve the incriminating seduction tape from the answering machine. She then tapes it to the bottom of a drawer of her desk. Later, she arranges another meeting with Charles, and smoothly mentions after their bedroom escapades that she intends to leave Savannah if she cannot get a loan to buy Reese's share. Charles, intent on not losing her, offers to write a cheque. Meanwhile, Dean has competition in his relationship with Lane as Terry, the reporter from New York, keeps on whisking her away to work on the cover story regarding the assassination attempt on Edward Burton, who has Veronica getting rid of the gun in a biohazard facility at the hospital, only to be spotted by Tom, who blackmails Edward with the gun. Veronica suggests fighting fire with literally fire by getting Tom's fingerprints on a gas can, and Edward proposed switching keepsakes - the gun for the can, lest Tom wants to be implicated in an...
