The first episode featuring Martin Short and he shows how great he is, a welcome addition to the cast.

The first scene is a very funny commercial about the phone company with Eugene Levy. He plays a man on a business trip who calls his family and then gets so worried he calls nearly every one he met in his life.

There is a hilarious sketch called Battle Of The PBS Stars, a parody of a series of special with CBS, NBC and ABC stars in sports competition, he we get public TV personalities. The hosts are Howard Cosell and Dick Cavett, though Cavett knows nothing about sports. The first sequence is a boxing match between Mr Rogers (Short) and Julia Child (John Candy). Later scenes has pole vaulting between opera stars Beverly Sills and Joan Sutherland. The last one has a football match between team captains William F Buckley (Joe Flaherty) of Firing Line and Carl Sagan (Dave Thomas) of Cosmos.

In between we get a mystery show Wok On The Wild Side with Candy as a gourmet chef/detective.

The Days Of The Week has Mojo finding a gun under Rocco/Billy's pillow. Clay has only two weeks to live but he wants to marry Sue Ellen. Funniest scene is Dr Sabian absentmindedly wishing him a long and happy life.

Movie Of The Week is I Was A Teenage Communist, a cross between a 50s Red Scare film and B Horror movie. Martin Short is the rebellious kid taken in by communists and he also turns into a werewolf. Musical guest Dave Edmunds plays the role of one of the commies and he sings a song called From Small Things.

We then see actual Pittsburgh Steelers Mean Joe Greene and Rocky Bleier doing a TV dinner commercial called Big Dude TV Dinner which contains a 24 bound turkey and several pounds of potatoes, corn and a whole cake.

Greene and Bleier return in a TV movie parody based on their commercial, in the movie they try to cheer up an obnoxious sick kid (Short).

Then there is a black and white documentary called Love Slaves In The Southwest about S&M in a trailer park. The final scene is David Brinkley talking about boredom
