The couple of Bert Eaton (John Kerr) and Marcia Eaton (Roxane Berard) are from Boston, which in the era this show is set in (late 1860s/1870), had a population of about 250,000 and was the seventh largest city in the United States. See more »
Shakespeare's Taming Of The Shrew got a bit of retouching in this Rawhide story
when the Gil Favor herd runs into married couple John Kerr and Roxanne Berard
on the trail.
Kerr is the son of a rancher that Eric Fleming is supposed to pick up beef and
supplies from and Berard is his new bride from Boston who has never been
west before. She causes all kinds of trouble in true shrew style and Kerr puts
up with it almost to the end.
This Rawhide story was a bit lighter than most and this series did not have too
many comic relief episodes. Look for a nice performance from John Marley as
a most civilized Indian.
Fans of the Bard and Rawhide will like this.
