Godber sends a request to a radio music show to play a record for his fiancee Denise, but it is rejected, probably because it is written on prison notepaper. At visiting time Fletch's daughter Ingrid causes a stir as she seems to be not wearing a bra and Godber is amongst the interested parties. He gets news that Denise has left him for another man, and attacks prisoner Jackdaw, who found the news amusing. His otherwise good record and the mitigating circumstances keep him out of a spell in the cooler, but later that day Fletch is less than pleased to find Godber writing another request to the BBC, this time on plain paper. It's a dedication to Ingrid. Written by don @ minifie-1

Fletch: With you, it's different. I mean, you're young, you're healthy, you've got an honest face.
Godber: Is that enough?
Fletch: Yeah, I think so, yeah. Character, that's what I can read there. That's what you've got, son. Character. You're a good lad.
Godber: So you think, Fletch, that if somebody cared for me, like, a girl, like, she'd... uh... forgive me past misdemeanours?

Heartbreak Hotel
7 October 2019 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

Fletcher has been pilfering again. This time the soft toilet rolls from the Governor's cupboard. Unfortunately the Governor now has to make do with the rough stuff.

Mackay is considering what to do with Fletcher's privileges. He also explains to Godber why radio stations do not play requests from prisoners. They could pass on coded messages to the outside.

Godber cannot understand why BBC radio are not playing a request for his fiancee Denise as it was written on prison notepaper. He is less than pleased when Ingrid leaves him for another man.

When Fletcher's daughter Ingrid visits him, she causes a commotion as she is not wearing a bra. The rest of the prisoners get an eyeful. Fletcher is not happy with her boyfriend but he gets a surprise when he finds out who she has been making eyes with.

It is an episode of prisoners families and their girlfriend's when they are inside. Fletcher's family are going through life without him again. Godber's fiancee has quickly moved on.

Fletcher gets some sharp one liners in this episode usually to do with Ingrid's boyfriend.
