Dick collaborates with an illustrator
15 June 2018 | by Jimmy_the_Gent4See all my reviews

Dick is writing a new book and hires a famous illustrator for it, but she turns out to be a sarcastic cranky woman.

Eileen Brennan guest stars and she is well cast as she usually played tough, hardened characters. Some of her roles were the neurotic woman on the All In The Family episode The Elevator Story, the madam in "The Sting" and perhaps known as the hard (and Oscar nominated) Army officer in "Private Benjamin" opposite Goldie Hawn. This is an OK episode with amusing moments between Newhart and Brennan, as they get on each other nerves with his pencil tapping and her cigarette smoking. There is a funny subplot as the cast awaits their 5,000th guest at the inn. The surprise ending provides the final laugh.
