Just not the same

I really enjoy the original Andy Griffith show.Great episodes were the rule. The show lost a lot when Don Knotts left in 1965.The show switched to color in '65 and ran 3 more years. The show seemed to get worse as time went by from '65-'68.(Weaker stories,drawn- out episodes that went nowhere, etc.)

What has to be the worst incarnation of the Andy Griffith shows, hands down, would be Mayberry RFD. There are a few bright spots, but not many. This episode is,unfortunately, ratherlame. Howard Sprague is no Floyd the barber,Ken Berry (Bless his heart) is no Andy Griffith. Buddy Foster is no Ron Howard. You get the idea. There is no comedy dynamic such as was between Andy and Barney in the original show.Consequently, the writers seemed to go for broader stories that seemed to fall flat. The show just lost it's heart and it isn't always a pleasant sight to see.
