While visiting a friend of his father, the mayor of a small Indian village, Terry gets involved when a smooth-talking swindler sells the townsfolk to a broken down bus. Terry fixes the cut fuel line, but that's just the beginning of the vehicle's mechanical issues. With the assistance of Raji and the use of Maya's considerable strength and the villagers assistance, Terry sets about returning the bus to the crook.Written by
While visiting a small Indian village, teenagers Terry (Jay North) and Raji (Sajid Khan) become involved in an automotive dispute. Hoping to make a vehicle useful to the citizens of Ramabad, town leader Mubarak Merchant (as Chundar, the Mayor) has purchased a used bus from smooth-talking I.S. Johar (as Akbar, the Merchant). The bus won't start until mechanically-minded Terry fixes a cut fuel line. Yes, something fishy (American expression) is going on. With help from Maya the elephant and his companion, Terry plans to set things right. "A Bus for Ramabad" may be the flimsiest episode of the series. Since the mayor is a friend of Terry's father, they could have added some mystery about him to the script. At least, the young co-stars look like they're having fun.
*** A Bus for Ramabad (11/25/67) Marvin J. Chomsky ~ Jay North, Sajid Khan, Merchant Mubarak, I.S. Johar
