Much Of A Cop's Life Can Be Legwork
18 January 2010 | by ccthemovieman-1See all my reviews

A cop is shot to death outside a pawn shop. Who did it? That's the storyline. Crimes like these were much tougher to solve in the 1950s when there were no such things as video and surveillance cameras around. There was no DNA evidence. You hoped you could get some fingerprints somewhere and maybe a witness who saw something.

Basically, that's this whole episode except for the last 30 seconds. It's just the behind-the-scenes legwork of Ballinger as he tries to find out who killed the cop. He interviews a handful of people and you know one of them is responsible, but which one?

This episode, frankly, was boring. There is no other way to put it but it does illustrate all the tedious work a cop has to go through behind the scenes to solve crimes. Only Marvin's distinctive voice kept me awake as he slowly figures this case out.
