Welcome home, Mr. Edwards!
23 November 2013 | by mitchrmpSee all my reviews

Mr. Edwards has returned home, but not under the best of circumstances. After the death of John Jr., he just couldn't face life anymore. He had a serious drinking problem and didn't know how to stop it.

He hid all this from his friends in Walnut Grove. He was welcomed back into their lives, got a job at the meal, and became part of the family. Laura even asked him to be Rose's god-father! But when he and Albert went on an errand in Sleepy Eye, a tragic accident happened while Isiah was drunk. Albert was almost killed!

The truth came out. Alice was divorcing him. Charles didn't want him near his family again. But Laura had a soft spot for Isiah and begged him to stay. Almanzo would make him work hard and earn his keep, but together they could make it happen. A letter from his soon-to-be ex- wife almost ruined everything!

We see the Wilder's in their new home. The timing is a bit unbelievable. Rose is still a newborn baby, yet a lot happened since she was born. She should be a lot older than she really is. A different actress played Grace Edwards, and Carol was played by a different actor. It just didn't feel like the same. Though I'm not happy that the writer's decided to take Mr. Edward's beloved character in this direction, I guess it's the way life happens. Bad things happen to good people.
