One sad sack with the zeal of a convert

There are some defendants you feel sorry for and in this Law And Order story Kevin Isola is certainly one of them.

In an experimental lab monkeys were set free and an AIDS researcher is bitten and killed. The monkey was infected with the disease, but also the man had a bad allergic reaction. Jerry Orbach and Jesse Martin track the culprit down to a lab worker who is this idealistic young kid Isola.

Isola is a late arrival to the cause of animal rights. But he wanted to impress Trieva Paoluccio whom he was interested in. He became an activist through her. So many of us do silly things to impress the one we are enamored with.

Good episode and we should also note the performances of Tresa Hughes as Isola's mother and Terrence Mann, Isola's animal rights activist defense attorney.
