Storyline

Marshal Jim Craig is escorting Gil Spanner to Cheyenne to testify against Chad Farrell, but Gil is anything but cooperative and Craig is now nursing broken ribs. With Farrell's men on their trail to stop Spanner from testifying, the sheriff of Laramie out of town, Craig takes Spanner to Sherman Ranch for help, putting Slim Sherman and Jess Harper in the thick of things. They find an unlikely ally in Val Farrell, Chad's wife, who wants nothing more than to see her husband hang. They are trapped in the ranch house with Farrell's men on every side and their own numbers dwindling. With night falling and Slim already wounded, it's up to Jess and Spanner to take a huge gamble and try and catch Farrell's men in a crossfire so they can survive. Written by DarSpi

Siege at the Sherman station
10 February 2017 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

Due to a misreading of motives John Smith and Robert Fuller are under siege with a trio who really don't have a lot of trust in each other.

First there's James Coburn who has been promised a commuted sentence if he goes to Cheyenne to testify against a notorious outlaw. He might just take it on the lam.

Not however if Marshal Charles McGraw can help it, even with the ribs he busted after one Coburn attempt.

Finally there's the outlaw's wife Marguerite Chapman who most certainly has her own agenda.

This was one good story of a siege and it takes some interesting teamwork among a group that has no great reason to support each other.

The siege is lifted in a most interesting way. A question of illumination.

Lots of action in this story.
