When the west bound stage arrives, the driver tells Slim he has a very sick passenger who has slowed them down. Slim and then Jess help carry the sick passenger inside while the driver changes horses and decides to leave. With the passenger passed out, Slim starts to unbutton his shirt but then removes his hat to discover he is a she. He calls Jess who upon recognizing her pours water on her face. Troy McCanles has set her cap for Jess Harper and has shown up at the ranch to pickup where they left off in Texas, much to Slim Sherman's amusement. Jess wants nothing to do with Troy, seeing as her and her outlaw family nearly got him lynched in Laredo. Troy hasn't quite shaken loose of her outlaw family either, as she promised Jess. They've followed her to Laramie and are determined to make trouble for her. When Slim falls for Troy, he has no idea about her outlaw past until she admits all to him. But blood is thicker than water as Slim finds out. Written by DarSpi

Slim and Jess never do settle down
30 December 2017 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

I think this episode of Laramie marks the first rivalry over a woman that Slim Sherman and Jess Harper have. Of course you know neither of them gets her because Anita Sands because she never did become a Laramie regular.

Sands is from an outlaw family the rest of which consists of father Arthur Hunnicutt and brothers L.Q. Jones and Harry Dean Stanton. She shoots faster and straighter than any of them, a regular Calamity Jane.

Robert Fuller and her have history, but she takes a liking to John Smith especially after he sees her in a dress. She fills it out nice I admit, but it ain't her style.

You know this one can only end one way especially since this is a bit more lighter than usual Laramie stories.
